So, me and Joe have been talking back and forth for a while now about him buying my Flyye MBSS. He seemed to really want the rig so I agreed to hold it for him until he had the funds to pay for it. At the time, he had some items for sale in the commerce section. A fellow member (Beta08) was interested in one of the items he had for sale, and told Joe "I will buy the item as soon as I have the money. I currently am waiting on some refunds from websites. If/when I get the money I will give it to you."
So, Joe contacts me yesterday and explains to me that Beta08 will have the money for Joe the following day (today). So yesterday I figure I can trust the guy and just give him the rig because I was in the area. So, yesterday I deliver the rig to Joe and expect to receive payment today. Later on that day (this is yesterday) I log onto chat and talk to Beta08. I tell him I am happy that he will be getting money to Joe tomorrow. When I say this to Beta he is very confused.
Beta08 begins to explain to me how he NEVER said that he was going to be getting the money to Joe tomorrow (currently today). In fact, he told Joe that he would have to wait quite some time and that there were other priorities for him to attend to.
So, I text Joe because I am rather upset about the fact that he lied to me in order to gain a rig. I know that he HAS scammed people in the past, but I decided to look beyond that. So, I tell him I am upset with his actions and I want either the MBSS back or the rig. I provided him with my shipping address so he could ship the rig back. His only response was something along the lines of "Yeah, whatever. I will ship it. Later." This conversation had happened yesterday.
So, it is now the following day (currently today) and I start to talk to some people who know Joe somewhat closely. They inform me that they know of or have been scammed by Joe at one point in there life. I was really starting to regret giving him the rig and am beginning to doubt I will ever receive the item. So, being worried I send him another text message saying "You're shipping the MBSS tomorrow, right? Shit better be here by friday dude..."
I waited several hours beginning to think that he is avoiding me and is planning not to send the MBSS when all of a sudden I get a text message from him. The message says "Go fuck yourself. It'll be out when I get it out. I've never ripped anyone off". This really displays how classy and mature he is to deal with.
After getting that text message I decided I am sick of this and decided I need to let the community know of his actions.
I KNOW there are other people out there who have had some bad business with him. I know the stories, but I am going to allow you to explain them for yourself if you want.
Finally, does anyone have any advice on what to do? Please be serious about this.

Call the police and explain it. If they don't want to help, than your going to have to go get it. But that's just my inner rezzer talking. I'm sure there's better ways of handeling this.

So, I send him another text message just now saying "Dude, just get me it, and shit won't have to get ugly." His response is "I'm scared."
Just goes to show his level of maturity. His hole just keeps getting deeper and deeper...

Paranox, you're not exactly coming off as very classy or mature by saying "Shit better be here by Friday dude..." or "Dude, just get me it, and shit won't have to get ugly."
I've found that threatening people generally isn't the best way to resolve things. I understand your position, but pissing someone off isn't likely to smooth things over.

Well, by saying "shit better be here by Friday" your setting a very negative tone.
Even if it does sound shady, you're not making the situation much better.

You guys are right. From here on out I am just going to stop communicating with him. Chances are, I will end up having to take a loss. However, hopefully I am wrong.
To the others out there who have had bad experiences with him, please post something. You know who you are...

Sent him a MO for a woodland IBA. He went on a month saying he never got it. I had no idea of his so called reputation for scamming people but once I heard of it I have doubts he was telling the truth. Especially since he bought a new vehicle later in the week I sent the MO. Since he has this reputation, I have given up asking about it or expecting to get it. If he is a rip off artist, he'll just still deny ever getting the MO.

I'd say avoid dealing with him. I waited three months for the other half of payment on an item I gave him. He originally send he'd have it mid to end of november, and it kept on getting pushed back. He further had a number of excuses as to why he couldn't pay when he said he could. All in all, deal went down late october, early november, I was paid yesterday, 2/5.

I wouldn't recommend calling the police if you have left him text messages such as you have. Those could be sued against you in my opinion. But then once again that is just my opinion. the way I see it you have two opstions; 1) Bug the shit out of him until you get your items back (which may never happen). 2) Just cut your loss, learn from your lesson and move on! You're a good guy P and I'm truly sorry to hear that you have to go through this.

Ok. Ok. Ooooook.
First off, I'd like to apologize to all of the guys that know me. REALLY know me and who I am. Which is... Four of you? Five, maybe. For this and my lack of commitment in response to this topic. Those of you that KNOW me know that my mom has been sick and to be quite honest and frank? She's more important than any of this shit. Any day of the week.
Nate. The reason why I stopped texting you was because of the threats and irrationality of your actions that you began to dish out after you discarded any effort I'd made to try and explain to you what was going on. I told you I'd just paid Knife and you asked me how I planned to pay you and him in the SAME night. I get paid on FRIDAYS. I work a shit ton of hours... I told you I had the money.
FIRST, Knife. It took me a while to get that money to you and I do apologize. Like I said when I picked it up (I was still not working due to the foot injury and in between staying at my apartment with my ex girlfriend or moving back in with my mom to help her) that it would take me a while. You had no objections to this and stood next to me on the 29th and told me it was all good. I reassured you that I'd pay you. Do you think someone who scammed people would come to the same game they knew they'd all be at? I don't have parents with money. I pay for almost everything at my house. One reason I moved back was to help support my mom. It's not a sob story and did I rush into buying the SPC? Possibly. My reasons were the following... My mom was in the hospital and I payed for her prescriptions. She's been in the Hospital several times since then. I moved back home. My commute got longer and I was living paycheck to paycheck up until this past paycheck due to my breaking the lease to move back home. Gas is expensive. Then, my water heater took a shit. Want pictures of the new one? That is all I'm going to say about it, but I do apologize.
Secondly, I misunderstood what Beta08 said. At the time that we talked, he said "I'm waiting on a refund. It will be a few days." But due to a mis communication and my miscalculation due to the misunderstanding, I counted my chickens before they hatched... I'm the only one who's ever done that. Right?
NATE; I made an attempt to contact you several times to no avail. The night I tried to explain everything to you, you didn't want to listen. You wanted your money "now" and I was willing to give it to you that night. I was (have been) dealing with my mother being in the Hospital since the night you went to the Auto Show. When you started sending my threats (You know, the ones you didn't post) I couldn't help but laugh. Especially since I'd told you that I'd be sending the vest to you and you continued on with your childish rant.
This is as much as I'm going to put into this conversation. Your MBSS was shipped TODAY and should be there by Friday or Saturday.
Just remember this... You came to MY house(s) and I allowed you to stay and make yourself at home. You spent hours in a car with me and I told you some decently personal stuff. We were friends and you had some of my shit, too. Did I freak out? (Price or item doesn't matter.) I extended the offer of joining a team that Timm and I had in the works under some pretty convincing reasons why I shouldn't. You fucked yourself, doggy. Really... Why would I decide to fuck over a 17(?) year old kid and possibly a teammate of all people? Get a grip.
STEVE EHLERS... You "lost" your receipt? You never told me that you'd lost it. You told me that you'd left it attached to the money order itself. I asked you if you'd sent it priority and insured like I'd requested you to do, since I'd JUST moved into my apartment, and you didn't. We also confirmed that you'd gotten my address wrong, didn't we? Did I ever ignore a text or message from you? In fact, didn't I get a hold of you more than you did to me? No. I saw you the 29th of this month, bro. You talked about buying SAPIs from me... AND, I got my Jeep AFTER selling my 2004 Chevy 1500.

You just said send it ASAP. We did not establish I got your address wrong. We established that you never gave me your apartment number the two times you gave me your address. If I had gotten your address wrong it would've been sent back to me. I was never interested in buying your plates. I only asked to look at them so I could see if they say U.S. issue on them (which they did) so I could know if there is a chance they're hot plates. I didn't say anything face to face at the 29th game because I was there to play airsoft, not to hear the same thing I heard from you months ago.

For the record, every trade/purchase/sale I've done with Joe has went flawlessly. I wouldn't hesistate to do business with him again.
