Sadly, that is probably true. But I am pretty sure, if we could get enough people to vouch for SOME type of field to be opened, we might be able to negotiate something with the city. Unless you can somehow convince a city that you/a group will assume all the costs and legal liability, forget about it. And since I don't think anyone on here is that rich (not even cqbr sadly), it's going to be a no-go. I think a lot of you are imagining that you can just go to the city, ask to have a bunch of people be allowed to run around and shoot at each other in an empty/abandoned building and have them come back and say "Fuck it, sure why not?" Basically, unless you have a huge ass wad of cash and an iron-clad indemnity for the city/property owner to sign releasing them from any and all liability, forget about it. They have no reason otherwise to even consider approving such a thing. And frankly, I don't blame them one bit. Property owners want long-term (6 month plus) leases at exorbitant rates to ensure they get enough money out of it to make it worth it. They would rather let a building sit empty than rent it out for less than what they think it's worth for someone to use it. If you want to play in a bad-ass CQB/MOUT facility, go to a Lion Claws sponsored event, or a Pine Plains game. It's expensive sure, but that's the only way those kinds of things happen. No one is going to have those kinds of games for 20 bucks a day, not nowadays.

If we could even get a city rep to visit one of the big events that is planned they could see how organized and serious we are about this sport.

There is a CQB facility in Kalamazoo. Big drive from where you guys live but its still a open running facility with games every weekend.

As far as the youtube videos, Thats not airsoft and thats also what gives airsoft a bad name. The whole point of this was not simply for 1 event. (at least thats not the way i took it.) But so people that dont live in Kalamazoo and Detroit can still play CQB with out wasting the whole day driving.

Instead of trying to get a city to open a facility for you kids, just get your parents to drive you down a few more miles to eastside airsoft or phoenix tactical, both of which are minutes from troy. Both of whom host multiple games every week.
There, I just solved all your problems.
The next post from you guys should be: "now that I know there are places to play CQB near Troy, I will be playing every weekend like I said I would".
Anything else aside from that is wishful talk which is pretty much all BS.

Troy is a little over half the distance between me and Detroit. Eastside's new place looks like it freakin blows anyways.

It has many alley ways and low walls for a good fire fight. They change it up quite often, and every time for the better. It certainly DOES NOT blow.

Yea I would have to agree. Eastside is awesome. I play there all the time. They change it up at least once a month.

Eastside is as good as it gets around here in terms of CQB. Before you judge a place you should see it for yourself in person.

Actually just played at eastside for the first time a few hours ago, anything but "freakin blows" would come to my mind. Great field, great people. I agree with ARC. But back on topic, I highly doubt any new fields would be coming anytime soon thanks to all the red tape and bureaucrats you'd have to go through.

I would just like to point out that I didint say that eastside sucked. But from the pictures I had looked at, it looked really skinny like both forces would meet in the middle and then no one would move. I will never condemn any person place or thing of being sucky with out a in depth investigation with my own eyes.

This is BS talk I know (but at least I have an imagination), but my dad's work (warehouse) is planning on moving due to increased stock which located in Royal Oak off of 696 and a few blocks east of Woodward Ave. If they move, that warehouse would be perfect (and I mean perfect) for a CQB field. It's about (not good at approximating) 75,000-100,000sq/ft total with 2 floors (2nd floor is on top of first without interupting the first floor) with about 50,000-70,000sq/ft. of warehouse and 30,000-50,000 of possible storefront and showrooms. It also has several bathrooms and few office type rooms as well as a basic kitchen and 2 decently sized parking lots.
But I don't know, just something I thought I would share because it would be great to see a warehouse that big become a great CQB field and store in one.
And if you must criticize, go ahead.
