IF ANYONE IS MISSING ANYTHING FROM OP: 9 HAMMERS PM ME TO SEE IF IT WAS TURNED INI seem to have collected quite a few items which people may want. With that out of the way I have to say that was one of the most honest games I have been to, there were virtually no issues with honesty and integrity on the field. I only once had to check on a hit-calling issue, to find out later it was physically impossible for the player to effectively announce his hit. For those of you thinking the reffs got a bit loud, honestly, we are there to ensure a smooth flow to the game, during briefings and such we expect safety and attentiveness to ensure safety. The times our voices were raised, were to ensure the safety of all and a continuing flow to the game. This is also one of the few games I've been to where a three sided force-on-force has worked out well. There was no confusion that I witnessed between the 3 sides, I heard of plenty of friendly shootings though. Coms was an issue on ALL sides from what I saw as well. This is a MILSIM and comms were expected, but it happens. The largest confusion came from having the refs on a dedicated channel and the rest of the teams on other channels, resulting in lack of communication between team refs and teams and other refs. Definitely an area of improvement. FLAK now you know why none of FAH are ever bothered by the Bangor South hill I want to thank everyone for coming out, some of you made a hell of a drive. Hopefully you all enjoyed yourself and we look forward to seeing you all again. Like others have said, it would have been great to have had more time to set up squads and find out who had comms. I also think the three team thing could be passed up last time but that's just my opinion. Also, there was a lack of maps (atleast on green) and from my knowledge we had quite a few new players that didn't know the field.
However, for my first time out to the FAH field I had fun. And for $10 dollars and a free raffle (which I had the luck to win some Magpul MBUS's) I had an excellent time.

Ok, now I am somewhat rested and awake, let's see if I can type or not.
Personally, I found the three way battle an interesting challenge. The confusion of the coms going out, and confusion over friend/foe identification added to the realism of the milsim experience to me. I know some were frustrated by it, and I can certainly understand their position. For me, it heightened the "immersion experience" by having that fog of war effect.
A few small suggestions that may help down the road:
I know the Ref's took some fire in a few places. They announced "ref coming through" well enough, but there were still cases of reftracide (to coin a word). I think in one case that I saw, the shooter could not hear the ref over the ruckus going on, and could only see the ref's head moving through the brush. I would suggest putting yellow construction hard hats on the refs for easy visual identification. It also gives them a little more protection from falling bbs in cases like the hill assault, where some fire was raining down from ricochets further up the hill.
Bright yellow or orange shirts with "REF" on them could help as well, so long as no one else is allowed to wear what ever color the refs are wearing. I realize this will be an extra expense for the events, but I may be able to get a few construction hats used and have a place for cheap shirts I will investigate (they may be willing to do a donation or severely cut rates).
Another suggestion would be airhorns used to signal game on (one blast) and game off (two blasts). Some people were having trouble hearing what was being yelled further out from the center of activity from what I understood. Likely, there could only be one airhorn used at any given time, otherwise the sound of horns from multiple places might sound like game off, and people might take their mags out then get lit up.
For me, the refs being vocal at briefings and such I actually liked. It adds to the milsim feel (Jim, were you ever a DI? Nice work!), and for safety reasons it is critical that everyone is up to speed. I do understand some people finding it a bit of a surprise though. I grew up in a military family, dinner was like that pretty much every day, so it was kind of old home day for me.
The fellow who went out to get pizza gets special props. That saves a fair amount of traffic in and out of site at lunch time, and if you can do it again next time it seems like a pretty good system.
Thanks again to all involved, you guys did a great job with a chaotic situation and it made for an interesting event. It was a good time and I would do it again next week.
Over.

This is the first time I've had a break at work to post, but thanks everybody for coming out, it was a blast to run this and see all the good times people were having.
Tino, you guys DESTROYED out there, and I have to say, the last battle for the Mortar Complex was the coolest thing I think I've seen since I've started playing!
Thanks TJ for the awesome raffle, I think it was a cool thing to do for the players.
One thing we discussed is that airsoft isn't cheap, some of you drove quite a ways to get to this event, and it feels good as an event organizer to work so closely with a retailer, and be able to throw something back to the people that showed up.
For all the people that turned up to make this event what it was (and it was about 100 of ya!), thanks again for making our big game such a smash!
I ate about a million rounds to get those pics, especially during the final battle, so enjoy, I've already seen a few new avatars!!

Thank you for the props Kustom, WE did what we could! I would have to agree with you on the last battle. I was on the ridge watching it all go down and there were battles EVERYWHERE!!!! The smoke was epic, the battles were epic...all in all the whole event was definitely worth attending. To anyone who missed this event don't be stupid...attend next year!
