hi this is my first post here and i'm looking for a little help about sniper rifles. a couple friends of mine do skirmishes around the state and i decided i this looks like a lot of fun. i really want to get a sniper rifle, and between what i've read online and what friends have told me the tokyo marui vsr-10 is a great buy when you consider price/ upgrade-ability. i really only wanna spend up to 300 bucks on a gun and then maybe another 100 on upgrades at first...any help would be appreciated! thanks

The JG Bar-10 is a clone of the VSR-10, so it can use the same upgrades/parts. It's a clone, so the stock parts are going to be not as good as a Tokyo Marui, but will also be cheaper, well below 300 dollars.
EDIT: I hope this was the kind of answer you were looking for

Would I be better off getting the TM- VSR 10 and then doing 100$ worth of upgrades or just getting the L96 to begin with, thanks for the help guys.

Thanks for your help everyone, but after reading multiple posts on this forum I have drawn the conclusion that getting a sniper as your first gun is a BAD IDEA. Thanks for trying to help tho!

Would I be better off getting the TM- VSR 10 and then doing 100$ worth of upgrades or just getting the L96 to begin with, thanks for the help guys. Both of those guns can be transformed into peaces of beauty. One isn't exactly better than the other though. I can't tell you what you would be better off doing because it is mainly based off of opinion but I can tell you that being a Sniper is one of the most, if not the most, expensive airsoft role there is. You are going to be having to put in more than 100 dollars if you want the thing to be shooting how I imagine you want it to be shooting. The TM VSR-10's are amazing guns and same goes with the Maruzen L96 but to get them where you want is going to cost serious money. If you have the money to get it where you want it than more power to you, but otherwise I suggest looking into an AEG. But if you have your mind absolutely set on a Sniper Rifle Take a look into the Commerce section. Also I especially recommend you take a look at this: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=commerce&action=display&thread=27905It may be out of your price range but will be better than a TM VSR-10 or Maruzen L96 that is lightly upgraded.

That is also true, and you will look super sexy if you have it but be prepared for some weight.

That rifle is super sexy and for the price you can't go wrong. I would have picked it up long ago if I enjoyed the sniper role. You should definitely look into saving a little more cash and purchasing it if you change your mind.
