Meh. Too few people to make it truly worth the $20. What few engagements we were a part of were fun and challenging until we got shot, then while dead got shot again, and again, and again, and again... (you'll notice a trend here)
Not a special event by any means and I feel like that field is too open to house anything that marvelous.
Overall though I had fun and got a good day of shooting in and got to make sure my SL9 was working properly.

I concur... the small numbers a field that's as large as scraft is was difficult to get anything going.
People not laying off the trigger once someone got hit, was a reoccurring theme of the day, i remember being hit, getting my kill rag out, then a minute later standing there and getting hit IN THE KILL RAG.
In other news, i think that field has potential for larger games if it were to be built up a bit more with more structures to hide behind and whatnot, but for an 11 on 12 game its way too massive, don't get me wrong though, i love being out there with all you guys and getting a little trigger time in as well.
And I apologize for the throat shot greenie saw man

Yes I agree it would have been sweeter had there been more people but what can you do?
I had a good time. Respect to Texas.

The half of the woodland team that was Black Talon had a good time. The other half was people I have never seen before, and I can't really speak for them. All in all we had fun. I was commander, so half the day I was carrying a suitcase, and juggling two radios, but I still had fun, despite getting only 1 kill, and only getting hit once myself.
Hit calling seemed really good. I heard all day of instances of "overkill", but many people didn't have kill rags and didn't speak up well enough over the battle noise initially. I heard more than I saw however, as I was tasked with keeping the suitcase out of the treacherous hands of the dirty money launderers, and spent a lot of my time in the few big battles staying close but hidden from view. Woodland had about half new guys to the area, but I can speak for our new saw gunner, Mudflap, that he sometimes simply cannot hear much over the constant noise of his motor. So that may have been some of the instances of overkill, but I know he wouldn't do it intentionally.
Regardless, it was fun, but things went downhill quickly after lunch. I don't know if it was the exhaustion from the size of the field, or just the heat, or both. Probably both, but the wind just wasn't really in anybodies sails after lunch.
I would agree that the field was very big for the number of players that showed up, but isn't this a good thing? Everyone is always so pro-milsim, that I don't see how this is a problem. This WAS a milsim event after all. It isn't supposed to be one big giant firefight all day. I personally enjoyed sneaking around, and taking half of green around to site 1 at the very beginning to take the suitcase, that was lightly guarded. As the rest of our boys engaged the main force. I still had a lot of fun, despite the heat, and like I said before, shooting only one person, and only getting hit once myself. I think this field has great potential, it already has proved itself in the past, as we have played in games with 60-100 people out there before. More building can't hurt, but bunkers, trenches, and such would be far better in my opinion that more structures that resemble third world housing. The field is great.
Bison, it is always good to see you out, and have you on our team. Now that I know who you are. Thanks to easy1 and of course Tex for a fun half a day of airsoft. The player turnout was not their fault, and there is only so much you can do with 12 vs 12. Not the best event ever, but still fun.

I had a great time considering the lack of players and heat. Like Nexus said the field could use more cover, but I really liked how large it was as it allowed for plenty of flanking action. I also saw a lot of issues with overkill due to lack of kill rags and people standing in place while bleeding out.
Even though it may have caused some people to get a little pissed off, I had a blast using that SUV as an APC. I also want to apologize again for eliminating almost all of the green team after they respawned. I still have no Idea what the fuck I was thinking.
All in all I had a great time. Thanks again Tex for hosting a good game and for putting up with us.

Ok, so much thanks to Tex and those of you who did come through and make it to the event. I'm thinking that this field is one where having patrols will actually pay off, as compared to Bangor. And it is GREAT to be able to get vehicles involved. Seriously, we need to get somebody with a jeep or a pick-up that's shooting safe out there, and do the rapid transports and tactical conversions.
I think the heat did more than anything else to wear people out. Though a few of you went home with some nice big welts on your legs from stumbling and tripping through the brush. I'm going to recommend that, for future events, we move the parking area closer to the actual field entrance, as opposed to hanging around the exit to the street. Means less of a walk. And we really need to set up some kind of shade in the staging area, even if it means just draping a blue tarp between two trucks.
I would call this an event of development, and now that more of you have seen what the field looks like, you can see what it is capable of. So now, that will gradually increase the support and interest, and therefore the number of events, then the money, then structures on the field, which yeah, can make third world ghettos look ritzy. And yes, we NEED a lot more people on that field. Probably at least twice as many.
Thanks again Tex, and thanks again Jeff for another fine day in the field.
I got 1 confirmed kill and 10 Medic heals. Whose da medic site 2?

You have been exalted for your actions at lunch today as well Melson. Okay...now I need to know what happened. Sounds like it's a pretty good field, just needs more people. I'll see if I can make the next game at this field because....well...vehicles? Hellz yeah!

The op was great fun despite the amount of people. i felt like we, the green team, were forced to be more tactical and more precise. we had ups and downs as did the money launderers.
I do need to say sorry to anyone that i overkilled... i see hands and kill rags better than i hear hits being called so i do apologize to anyone i pissed off... this was my second MI event and i felt like one of the big shots because i was playing with a lot of big shots in MI airsoft. i give huge props to Tex for making a small game fun, and huge props to everyone that showed up to a 12 on 12 game and were still stoked to be there.
