OK Many of you may find this place great , but I have had an absolutely horrible experience with this store/website. I ordered my gun on May 10th and it arrived promptly in 2 days. However after opening the box (which looked like it had been scratched my 12 cats) I notice the front of the hand guard was crack. I then proceeded to take my first shoots with this gun. Wow shocker here.... it didn't fire. I contacted them and sent it back a day or 2 later. They received it last Friday. They told me it was simply a broken tappet plate and it was to be shipped back to me last Monday. Was it ? nope. I contacted them Thursday (yesterday) and they said it still had not been shipped out. Now I'm really getting frustrated because I gave this company a chance instead of ordering off of airsoftgi (I have never had problems with them). So I was told they were going to try to ship it out that night. So i called this morning , well because I wanted to see if it had been shipped, once again it had not. Now they are telling me it won't be shipped till Tuesday. Not acceptable. Honestly I either should not have ordered from here, or they could have just sent me the damn tappet plate and I would have installed it myself. Because were going on 3 weeks since I even ordered my gun.

Airsoft repairs aren't always fast. And if you were so sure you could have fixed it, why didn't you? Likely if they had just 'sent you a tappet plate' you would have screwed that up and blamed them for that too.
I'm not saying that 3 weeks isn't a long time to wait, but I can almost guarantee that you would have waited just as long to get your gun fixed from any other retailer, if at all. I'm honestly surprised that more retailers don't have a sold as-is policy, since it's impossible to be sure of Quality Control on most of the Chinese made guns.
If you bought it from Empire Airsoft's website, pm kdogg as that is likely who you talked to on the phone anyways. To be honest I'd like to see what he has to say here as well, as from what I know of kdogg he usually tries to take care of customers as best he can. I also know that sometimes stuff comes up though.

Yeah well can you explain why the box was scratched as hell or why the hand guard was cracked. Not trying to be a dick, but I mean come on I know they sometime test shoot guns but the gun looked way more then test shot. And as far as shipping it back I spent another 12 dollars just to do that. If there is a problem with not having enough help then maybe they should hire someone else. Oh and the comment about me screwing up the tappet plate; first off I couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong with it. And second it's a 5 minute fix. Futhermore if I had ever ruined the gun because of myself I would never blame the retailer. I got a gun that should have never been sent to a customer. So go on drop my karma, flame away but I am giving my honest review of what I thought of my experience with this retailer.

I can understand your frustration about the gun, but the box being scratched? I mean come on its just a cardboard box, who cares if its scratched. Secondly, the handguard could have cracked from the shipping company. I shipped a TM sopmod about a month ago via Fed Ex 2 day express and the damn gun arrived with a broken buffer tube caused by fed ex.

I can kind of see what he means about the box being scratched up. That COULD signify internal damage to the shipped product. In this economy though, I can't see most small airsoft retail businesses purposefully sending out faulty product. When you pretty much have your reputation to up-hold, you can't afford to make bad decisions like that. Good way to go out of business real quick. Shit happens though.

Its just annoying when you drop like 160-170 bucks on a gun and it shows up not shooting and then you end up waiting 2 more weeks to get it back I mean come on. Noone should have to wait 3 weeks to play with a gun they ordered. O well I guess.

Noone should have to wait 3 weeks to play with a gun they ordered. O well I guess. Guess you've never ordered a gun from Hong Kong, eh? You'd wait longer than that, waaaay longer if you actually got them to do an RMA and fix a gun that broke on you. I know you think you're getting a rough deal now, but just be thankful that you can: a) talk to them on the phone b) understand them on the phone c) worst case, you could drive to Kalamazoo and talk to them in person. It's not that I'm trying to bust your balls man, or that I'm sticking up for Empire Airsoft. All I'm saying is, give them a chance to make it right. If they can't or won't, then they deserve the kind of retailer review that would warrant.

Its ok to be pissed off, recieving a gun that is broken internally, just because it wasnt test fired, thats pretty damn weak.

Yeah I kind of made this thread out of frustration. It just seems to me they keep pushing back my return date. And as far as it being broken in transit, the gun looked as if it had been through some use and not just test firing. I am not sure the reasoning. However when Steve does return from where ever he went I would love to find out cause I spent a $170 after this is all said and done and it's going on 3 weeks and I have nothing to show for it. I tried calling him last Thursday but I was just some asian guy who I could not understand. I would like to apologize if I have offended anyone. I'm just getting irritated at the fact that it's taking me 3 weeks maybe more to be able to play with a gun that I ordered from their website.

I'd rather not be a part of this thread but since no one has really said it, I will:
In goingcommando's defense, the box may have been damage in shipping and even the handguard, but to break something internally on the rifle is VERY hard to do while in transit. The force to break a certain internal part would have to penetrate the box, packaging, body, gearbox shell, and still have enough energy to do enough damage to register the gun useless. Very unlikely, presumably.

Plus, it shouldn't take 3 weeks to fix a broken tappet plate, especially if they've been saying all along that they would ship it out, and then they don't. I've heard good things about Empire Airsoft, so I'm a bit surprised. But maybe it's just a fluke and they screwed up. If they can fix goingcommando's issue here in a timely manner now, I'd be a bit less skeptical. I mean, it doesn't sound like it's going to be a big deal since they are a pretty local company and they have still been in contact, so it doesn't seem like they're trying to screw the guy.
So goingcommando, just give them a bit more time, but if they say they are going to ship it out and don't, then keep bugging them. Just let them know (nicely) that you aren't happy with how long they're taking and hopefully they'll get a move on.

Yeah I am; like I said I kind of made this post out of frustration. I mean I was so pumped to get my new gun and then it turns out to be broke now I had to wait another 2 weeks. I like that their local and Steve seems like a cool guy. But this just frustrated me.

I'm waiting on parts and we just had a holiday.
You know technically I don't even HAVE to handle the repair of this gun if I choose not to. ECHO 1 handles there own repairs in-house. I could have just told you to send it into them but since you were a local, I was trying to be helpful but as usual, that's bits me in the ass yet again.
I even tried to go a little above and beyond with the repair. Rather then to use a cheap Chinese tappet plate, I went out of my way to go get you a Systema tappet plate (we were out of stock here) but that still didn't completely fix the issue to my complete satisfaction so I'm waiting on another part but Wallace at Systema USA was in Japan until May 25th and I was in West Virgina for a wedding myself over the holidays.
Thank you for teaching me my lesson though, next time I'll do what Classic Army, ECHO 1, or any of the other wholesalers tells me to do, have the customer contact them directly for an RMA repair.
Sheesh...
Now lets see who picked up on the part of that where I was being sarcastic.
