Just wondering if anyone has heard or seen a gas mask that is ANSI rated, I googled and I used the search function but I couldn't find anything.

I think that current military and LE gas masks are ballistic rated lenses, but i couldn't guarantee it, try look up a Millennium CBRN

I just got a GP-5 mask that is impact rated. I think the lenses were specially made so I'm sure if you can count on all of them being the same. This is probably the most common and cheapest mask available right now, but I'm not sure about the regular lenses, it might be worth investigating.

My friend has a Russian gas mask, and the lenses seem really strong. I would bet they'd hold up against a bb.You can get them for around $15 with a canister and bag. Let me know if anyone is interested, and I can send you the link.

I read that post link also discussing gas masks, and they arrived at using respirators as a decent and cheaper alternative. I actually have been using a respirator, with the charcoal sides removed for about a year. I really like it. U can wear your goggles with it, it keeps your breath vented out the sides, rather than the top, and with the sides removed it does not get in the way of sighting, even with scopes with shorter eye relief. I had a tooth shot out a couple of years ago, so this has been my solution since. It works great. And coupled with a good set of goggles, looks alright too. Also they fit really tight and secure against your face.

But if it's not ANSI certified, it doesn't matter what kind of projectile it's stopped. It won't be allowed on the field.
