I only made the first two scenarios before I had to drive home, but I had a blast. This year's site had buildings that were open on all levels, including the rooftops, and that made for murderous MOUT operations. I was astonished by the overall quality of play. I didn't see people hanging back and dukeing it out at long range; people used covering fire to run from corner to corner and wall to wall, then sliced pies and closed with the enemy. The three-dimensional threat took a little while to get used to, especially when accompanied by the shifting battle lines and tall walls that enabled the enemy to turn any unwatched flank. I'm definitely going next year if I can.

Nope.
Urban combat is ridiculous, but it was definitely a good time. Uploading helmet cam footage now, will probably edit as soon as I figure out how to do that. Working on pictures.

Sorry, I didn't take that many combat pictures, and most of my helmet cam footage didn't turn out (think it's issues with the camera,) making me a sad panda. Relish and I! Really the only good action shot I got, Rangers moving in the smoke with Freedom Fighters on the roof:

I thought they would have had strict camo restrictions.

Real quick editing job: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXfmgPJqeOgJust spliced in some music and cut that scene to about 30 seconds. Most of my footage isn't so good, and the stuff that would have been great doesn't work, will do my best to make a presentable video. Also, Col. McKnight wasn't the only Ranger who was in Somalia 15 years ago to participate at this year's Irene, we had a surprise VIP show up.

I thought they would have had strict camo restrictions. Task Force Ranger had to be wearing 3-color desert, blouse and pants both, all the time. The insurgents were allowed to wear mismatched camo or civilian attire.

It was a blast. The DCU's were a little big, and the fact that I must have sweat out more than 2 gallons of all the water I drank didn't make em shrink any.
Overall, I'd say it was the most fun I've had in airsoft ever. Actually working coordinating with our almost 250+ team, running around doing house to house in this little residential area, doing CQC in the old asylum buildings, deploying in trucks, and getting to meet people like MSG Howard Mullen, Col. Danny McKnight, Todd Blackburn, or Paul Longgrear.
Worth every penny. It was also great to finally meet the GK guys.
Big Mac and I were slaughtering their world.
