Out of curiosty, how big is this field?
And something that would be cool, though maybe difficult/time consuming; maps for all the players of the field, and it would be even cooler if they were made out with labels that go with the ops senarios, rather than just "shanty town" or something like that.

that would be kinda cool, but i don't know about every player, more like just the commander of each team, then he can show people the map when giving commands

I think every player should have one, well, that would be best anyway. From my experience, when you give the "commander" a map alone, about 4 people end up seeing it, and "commanders" are usually more of a formatlity than anything, from every op ive been to anyway. Maps for all I say!

I discussed the matter with Fox and a couple other event staff.
Maps for everyone is not looking like a realistic possibility. However, we are looking to get maps for the commanders But nothing has been set in stone at this point.

Make terrain maps available as a download, here. That will give just about everyone the chance to download and print a copy of the map.
If you want to keep the location of certain things secret, until the op, just provide a terrain map. The day of the event everyone who has a map can mark the objectives and locations themselves during the briefings.
Even a terrain map can go a long way towards making your event more enjoyable.

I must agree a map to pullout and call your fire fight location would be cool!

Frostee, that' the best idea I've heard yet! I like that idea quite a bit, I'll talk to the guys and do everything I can to facilitate that and get back to ya'll. It's not so much that we're looking to keep anything a secret, it's more a matterof how we could hand out maps to everyone and all that, but if we set it up as a download then that takes care of that problem. So I'm definitely going to look into that as a very definite possibility, and I'll keep you all posted on the matter. Thanks for the idea ;D -Wolf [Edit: And yes, the field is 15 acres, sorry- must not have seen your question before (got tied upin this mapmaking business)] Also, Smartarms45- I'm chalking you up for the government side, as they are short on players.
