So... I've seen a real steel with a collapsable stock, and I loved it, and I would like to take my newly aquired TM 552 and swap the folding stock out for a Crane stock and have it wired to the back (otherwise a big battery just wont fit in the foregrip). If anyone thinks that this can be accomplished without extensive modification, I'd love your input. Taking this: And making it into something like this:

Why move the wiring if its already not located in the back? This would mean more modification needed. Maybe im just reading what you have written wrong but it sounds like the wiring IS NOT located in the stock and you want to put it IN the stock.

Because, as stated, you cannot put a large battery in the foregrip, it just doesn't fit. Therefore, the upgrading which I would like to this gun would not work out. I am lookin to drop in an M100, metal bushings, and a larger battery to make this gun perform at a level which I deem acceptable, 270 FPS just does not cut it for me anymore.

I hate to kill your idea(mainly becuase I like it) but the hinge would break very quickly with the weight of that stock and battery on it. Maybe you could remove the whole back assembly and replace it with a piece that mounts to the top rail and between the receiver/handgrip or perhaps make a plate that is held in place by the receiver pins?

You could remove the stock hinge. Theres no point to it since the large stock type wouldnt fold completely, and definately wouldnt lock in the closed position.
However that would require modding the back of the reciever, most likely a perminent change.

I must have been unclear.
I in no way want it to swing shut anymore, just to function like an M4 collapsable stock. Which would be a permanent alteration. I have been unable to find a part specifically made for this, so I guess I'm going to have to end up making something myself.

If you attach part of a stock tube with a smaller diameter than the collapsible stock that you're using, you could attach that piece directly to the receiver. Just cut a hole in the folding unit and fold it shut when you attach it. Then just attach the stock to that, and run the power cord though. That may not make much sense without pictures

That's the entire kit Cross, they sell just reciever/stocks and I believe rear attachments as well.
Anyhow, the way I would do it, would to to get a busted M4 lower (or one scratched to hell or way the hell blemished or something along those lines) and a busted Sig552 Stock.
Cut the rear of the M4 stock attachment off the lower a tad in front so you have sort of a screw (the part the stock attaches to, then a little butt at the end of it that is wider then it).
Then, take the busted rear stock from the Sig552, and cut a hole in it that is as close to the M4 piece that the stock will actually be attaching to.
Swing the New Customly modified Sig552 rear out, slide the cut M4 rear in it, and close it.
Possibly get a plate and screw it in on the opposite side of where the stock hinges at, so, you won't need to worry about it opening/hinging on you.
