I've just created a seperate sub-forum for AARs. From now on, discussion of events that have already happened should be moved to that forum. Mods of the Events board will lock the thread for each event after it happens, so make sure that dicussion moves to the AAR board.

The "accidental?" moving of the SFOD June 8th event brings up a point. Instead of locking the thread after the event and then starting a new thread about it in the AAR, why not just move them?

I really like that idea. No there's only one place to go for all the after action chatter.

I agree. Might as well move it if you have to take the time to delete it anyway.

Sounds good. I like having this after action report section.

No. Just no. After a thread in the events section is done, it will be locked. We're considering whether it will be subsequently deleted. Moving it to the AAR section totally defeats the purpose of the AAR section, to whit the separation of useful feedback and good post-game camaraderie from the 10+ pages of "yeah, me and my buddy are coming and we're bringing our super-1337, awesome, pwnz0rizing UTG snipers!" and "what is the age limit for this game?" drivel. If you want to talk about an event after it's over, make a new thread in the AAR section.

I agree. A sub-board sounds great. So if newcommers want to read about how a certain event went they can read it in the AAR section. Good thinking admins. Way to keep the forums more organized.

Munin, I can see your point with wanted to keep everything separated like that.
Might I suggest that when the new thread is started in the AAR, it should contain the the first post of the original locked thread that describes the event. Maybe even the final roster for the event.
That way as marine444 said "if newcommers want to read about how a certain event went they can read it in the AAR section." Including what it was about and how many people actually went.

If whoever makes the first post about the event chooses to include that, then sure. The content of the first post is going to be determined by who wants to talk about the game first.

May i suggest though that it be the organizer's responsibility to make the thread after the event.
