Hello all.......
JANUS here from the Airsoftplayers forums... just wanted to let everyone know the status of my Battle Creek field.
For now I am hung up, I have ran into 2 legal snags that I am trying to get worked out and clarified so I can get the damn field opened. However as a note, how many teams do we have in here. IN the State of Michigan.
I have met a team, and if any members are in here drop me an affirmative to the affect. They are TEAM 7.62 and I have played with them 3 times now, they have an indoor CQB area they play in, ;D and they tend to be very good. I have passed the info on this site to there leader's Goblin, and Brass so they can start chatting also. They have a web site, however I do not know what it is, I will have them post it in here for everyone.
Anyone looking to get a game going drop me an e-mail, or TEAM 7.62 I am probually going to be joining them.

Woohoo@Janus posting! We've been all worried and anxiously waiting any news about the field, thanks for telling us what's happening! By the way, do the legal snags have to do with zoning and stuff, age restrictions, or something else?

Newman..........
The snags have to do with the local goverments "interpretation" of what airsoft is. I thought I had this cleared up way back when, but we now have a new prosecutor and he and his office seems to feel that airsoft just might be classified as "real" firearms, thus forcing me to get a FFL and require people to get a permit to buy one.
Needless to say I am not happy, and I am working with diverse others, and also a pair of lawyers to get this clarified.
Has anyone ran into any issues as to airsoft in there communities and if so did you get the issue rectified, any help (ammo) I can get will be of great help............

Hello Everyone,.... Goblin here from TEAM 7.62
Just wanted to drop on by and say hello, and let everyone know that we are looking for players and team mates....
If you live in the greater SW Michigan area, and love pain, and are not offended by bad language drop me or JANUS an e-mail. We have a indoor field that we play in it is 1800 square feet, narrow as hell but it is a good training area, we also have 40+ acres of wooded, and an old junk yard we play in.
CHEWY.... Where are you from, maybe we can get together

Thanks Janus for letting us all know about the status of your Airsoft field, and I'm sorry to hear about the legal issues you're having. Hopefully they'll be resolved soon so that we may proceed to kick some royal arse down in Battle Creek.
I'm not really too sure of how many teams we have here in Michigan. You mentioned Team 7.62, and I must say I've never even heard of them before. I believe 2 of our forum members here have teams. I've seen a couple videos of Ed and his friends play, but I'm not sure what their team is called. Smokey also told me he's part of a team, but he still needs to give me more specific details.
Most of us though are scattered around the state, so it may be difficult to join a team. Some of us here from the forums have been talking about starting our own. So who knows, maybe we'll have a team soon.
*me starts thinking of a good team name*
Edit- Woops, forgot about Team Zombie Corps. They have a couple members here in Mi. But I haven't heard from them in a while.

I've heard of Zombie Corps too, Hadoken. I think you were the one who told me about them, though, about 8 months ago before MiA was put up. The original 5 guys who were at the first skirmish (including me) thought about making team MiA or Missing in Action (or Michigan Airsoft...laf). I guess that kinda fell through, but I wouldn't mind making a cool team. Hows about Team 5.56? ;D /me is getting M4A1 for next gun

Yep, I was the one who told you about em Newman, and around that time was the last I ever heard from them. Doh. The team idea hasn't fallen trough either. I just don't like the name (Missing in Action) hehe, it sounds kinda...well..crap. Ewwwwww@M4

SickPointe, Janus is the man with the plan, He doesnt have anything to do with where we play now. The place we play is actually a retail area, but its owner is way cool, and allows to play there, it is narrow 18' wide, but is very long, and has 2 rooms in wich we try to kill each other in.
Janus has his own thing going, not trying to speak for the guy, but anyone who has had the chance to check his soon to be field out will probually agree that when done, and he gets over his hurdles it will be awesome indeed........
UN-Named... Who are you.? Reason being is that we allways want to meet new players and the like. Our main place we play is either at the indoor area wee have, or we also play on 40 acres outside Battle Crek, and there is 10 acres at a friends place out in Homer we play at. So basically we have 3 places we have right now that could handle the amounts of people we usually play with,
AND TO ALL !!!!!!!
This Spring me and my fellow team mates are thinking about having / putting on a Airsoft tourney in the Battle Creek area, so anyone that feels this would be something they are interested in drop us an e-mail or log an opinion in our guest book, and maybe we can get something planned.

To Spectre, Chewy, Pimp, RabidRaven, & Whomever Else in Northern MI (no offense to anyone else with a team in the downstate region, OH, IL, IN, etc):
The idea of a team is more than just an identity (although admittedly with as few airsofters as we have in MI it may need to be that for now). An airsoft team makes the best of the skills, knowledge, arsenal and equipment of the team's members. It becomes more cohesive, capable, competitive and in the case of airsoft - DANGEROUS to other teams - by playing/practicing together.
I offer up to those that this msg is addressed to, that perhaps we look at developing our own team for Northern MI. From what I've noticed on the net, most teams are geographically based, which only makes sense since it enables them to get together more often. If you're interested, email or private msg me and I'll start a thread here on MiA so we can start tossing some names & ideas around.
Hado - any chance we can get a Private Discussion area like those seen over on Airsoft Ohio once we have teams rolling?

JackStraw,
I am sure that no one will take offense at your ideas of getting together with Northern Michigan Airsofters, I feel that TEAMS and UNITS will be the cornerstone of this sport in this State.
Our team we have 11 members that play ALL the time, and we have at least another 8-12 that flow in and out due to varios reasons, due to our "core" team members, and due to the fact that we play all the time, we have become very good in knowing what each other is good at, and each others moves, and it is starnge but we actually know when one of our own gets into trouble on the field.
Once some teams get organized, we can then start to meet and play against each other in some rather formal surrounding I hope. Once also the teams get formally organized like TEAM 7.62 is, then we can start to have "events".
So good luck to you, and good luck to all that are trying to get this sport moving in this State.

Mr Jackstraw: Just let me know when you'll need a private discussion area for you and your Northern Alliance* of airsofters. Setting it up won't be a problem, I'll even make it password protected if you and your team wishes to discuss secret tactics or anything like that. *Man, I just love how that sounds. Northern Alliance. It's got this sweet Star Wars/Star Trek ring to it.
