It started out as a GREAT used gun. Had everything I wanted in an AEG sniper rifle. A real beauty, beautiful to behold and a dream to wrap my hands around. The relationship started out great, but then as we got closer, things went astray. Ahhh, women & guns, so much alike in so many ways. Hard to find a good one! ;D All the upgrades seemed to be working OK in initial testing. Over the weekend addl. in-depth test firing and sighting-in resulted in all sorts of weird, ugly stuff - MOST OFTEN ON SEMI-AUTO (which is really how I wanted to use it). Didn't really matter what I did (long list, won't bore ya' w/ details), it continued to misbehave and act cold & unfriendly ("please, please hit the target....ARGH!!!!!!). Rather than mess with it, the original owner was kind enough to take it back to get it right and return funds. A real gentleman and a credit to our hobby/sport. He still ordered my really cool GB Tech MP QD silencer www.neasg.net/gbtechmp5qd.htm for me direct from Taiwan - nice guy. We'll see what happens, and what kind of dent Xmas puts in the "BB Budget". Maybe I'll try it again, or maybe switch to an M24 or APS. Now I've got TWO sweet HK scope mounts.....anyone need one?

Hey Mike it's me Joe...A.K.A Rabid Raven...that sucks that your Sg-1 isn't what you thought it would be. Hey didi i tell you i got a PSG-1? Hey got rid of my SR-16 and traded it for a PSG-1 that shoots at 400fps! So save one of "your sweet" HK scope mounts for me...Oh yeah what are you doing this weekend? I think we should try and get another game in if the weather is decent. What so ya say?

You dog!! Congrats on the PSG1. Not sure about the wknd for skirmishing. Sun I'm not able, wife's B-day + headed downstate (I SAY AGAIN TO YOU FLATLANDERS, I'M HEADED DOWNSTATE! TROY TO BE EXACT - SHOULD I BRING SOME GUNS (other than my real Glock 26 which always goes on road trips, and yes I have the required CCW)? ANYWHERE TO PLAY INDOORS AT NIGHT?). Sat depends on whether I've got the remaining 1,000 lights in my trees (roughly 1,500 done so far - no not kidding, do this every yr) and if I've bought a gift & cake yet. I'll know more by Fri.
You are aware of the fact that PSG1 owners are required to wear Hunter Orange & no camo at all times aren't you?!

Doh, sorry to hear about your SG1. It's such a wunderbar looking gun and one day I'll hopefully own one too. I too am interested in the sweet HK Scope mount...but what kind is it? Is it a standard Marui one or some other manufacturer? And how much would this sweet piece of equipment cost me? *me wants to put reddot on SD6*

You are lucky that the original owner took it back. Last year I got cheated by buying a PPK, the owner didn't even return my e-mails.

Things that should NOT be wrong with a gun that was supposed to be perfect and properly operational, that was slightly used, and that was costing me $400+. No offense, but I don't see the benefit in providing to you or the general public a long dissertation (msp?) on what I found to be inferior and what may have caused it, or the testing process used. Suffice it to say, it spit BB's everywhere, sometimes in multiples, and at various velocities, usually in semi-auto, which is the primary function I intended to use.
The testing was quite thorough and involved a controlled process with each battery, each magazine, with minute hop adjustments, and varying fire seletor engagements. It did not engage semi-auto very well coming out of full. To make it function with any regularity required a 9.6 volt large battery (due to spring & internals), but yet it was shipped with 2 8.4 volt. The 9.6 would have required modification of the butt stock. It blew fuses with both voltage of batteries. It was highly upgraded & finely tuned, and I was not about to take it apart to try and determine what was causing the problem. The gentlemen that built it is VERY knowledgeable & helpful, but even he had no clue what to make of the symptoms.
That's what was wrong - and it went back. Trust me, I contacted numerous knowledgeable airsoft folks before I returned it, and not of their suppositions gave me an definite direction for remedying the problem..........and I really wish it had.
