I thinking of spending my xmas money on a close quarters combat type gun. (the opposite of what my psg-1 is)
I was thinking of something like a mp5k, P90, or a M3 Super 90. Got any suggestions?

You have some nice choices right there. You'd probably do well with any of them too. Maybe if you waited till next skirmish you'd get to see all three and decide for yourself. Retraw has a MP5K, Ballista just got the P90, and Minky the lucky bastard that he is will soon be getting his Super 90. So, either wait and see OR just do as I always say and get something YOU want. I'm sure you have a specific weapon in mind, but you're just not too sure about it so you have a few others ready for backup. Just relax, they all perform pretty much the same anyway except for the Super 90 of course. Check out reviews online, or search the ASZ and ASP message boards. I'm sure you'll find your answer soon.

either of those suckers should be fine....but i'd lean to the K or the P90....if only just for size... me thinks i'll be joining Ballista in the ranks of P90 wh0res soon... i've got about 400 bucks...soooo...i'm trying to decide what to spend it on.... any suggestions? edit: it changed wh0res to 'sleepers'

I dont know about a P90 unless you mean to use it most of the time. I think if you are looking for a backup to your PSG1 the K would probably be easier to handle since its smaller.

I'm not really looking for a backup for my psg1, I just want something to use for short range and something that I'll be able to use in cqb skirmishes.

Actually....maybe a backup is just the thing I need... What about a Glock 18c? Which one of you had that at OP: Ironclads? I remember shooting it but I don't remember who's it was.
Whoever had the 18c please tell me if it is worthy enough to be the backup to the all mighty PSG-1.

The Glock 18C you tried belonged to me. It's a LOT of fun to shoot as you saw for yourself at OP: Ironclads. If you're looking for an all year round backup weapon though I would advise against it. As the colder months slide in you'll start having more and more trouble, just like with any GBB. Gas guns do not perform well in cold weather. So you'll be stuck without a backup weapon for quite a while. Another thing to consider is cost. Sure the G18's relatively low price tag is far more appealing than that of an AEG, but add to that the cost of gas a couple times, extra magazines and you'll soon have your AEG price tag beat. Most HK dealers already sell their AEGs with batteries, so all you have to worry about there is keeping the sucker charged. That's just my opinion though. Right now I wouldn't go for a GBB since I would only get to use it indoors, but if you have your heart set on something, go for it.

what about an MP5A5? put a sling on that sucker...and well... wear it on your back.
mdairsoft has them for 230...plus a 25 dollar batt...and a 30 dollar hicap.
and you're in business.

The Glock 18 is cool, but its not a great weapon for anything other than really close to maybe 40 feet. For the price of one you could almost buy an mp5k. Add a few cans of gas and you could.

Well I've decided and ordered the glock 18c from airsoft toys. It's small enough to holster, yet fast enough to empty 23 rounds in less then 2 seconds. I don't mind that it won't work in cold weather, for my b-day I'll probably end up buying myself a mp5. I can't wait for the glock goodness to arrive

Ammo: I just know you'll be happy with that Glock 18C you ordered. I've had mine for a few months now and have probably put more rounds through it than any other G18 owner I know. With at least 6500 rounds through it already I haven't had any major problems at all. The only problem I had was Part #10 (the bb loading ramp) breaking rather early, but ever since I replaced it it's been working like a charm. Some might say that because of its slight barrel wobble it isn't as accurate as other handguns, but I sure don't see it. I'm still able to shoot popsicle sticks from quite a nice distance away easy. roaw!@g18!
