Well guys, I finally got lucky. My friend whose younger brothers I babysit got an Airsoft Elite (version 2) MP5A3 for Christmas, and never even told me about it until now! I'm the dude who first showed him Airsoft and got him to buy a pistol, but it broke and he's wanted something better since. Now we can do some serious Airsofting! I know only 2 guys could seem boring, but I bet it's going to be awesome now that both people have equal guns. It used to be just my MP5 AEG and a springer pistol, now it'll be equal. I just had to post this, because now I can play Airsoft with someone who lives nearby!

You are indeed lucky Newman! It’s hard enough to find players in the state, let alone your own neighborhood. Congrats!

Its weird to me that there arent any people around you guys. There are about 30 kids where I live that play but most of them have springers.

Well, like always, my luck ran out. DAMN RICH IDIOTS! The kid whose parents spent $400(!!!) on the Airsoft gun aren't letting him play fricking Airsoft with me!!!! They're so rich they don't even care that they spent that much and won't let him play!!?!!!

How old is this kid? If his parents say no then it’s prolly for a good reason. That’s just fine with me, one less possible airsoft accident waiting to happen.

Exactly what I thought...exactly. I'd played with this kid before, a couple months ago, when he had a gas NBB. We were safe, obviously wearing goggles, and his parents didn't mind at all. The problem was that it was AEG versus NBB, and he never even hit me the entire day (ok, that was his fault, he's a "ghetto" shooter-uses entire clip in one big burst and has bad aim). He asked for the AEG for Christmas and I guess his dad has no problem, but his mom just started getting scared after seeing his new MP5. The age thing is something I thought about, he's only 12, and I didn't particularly wanting him to buy anything *other* than a spring pistol (a couple months ago), because I have a springer and they're not as hard-hitting as AEGs. He didn't listen and spent $140 on a POS non-blowback pistol and tons of gas and bbs, and well, that broke after 5 days (no idea what happened, but I bet it was because he had no idea how to use the gas correctly). They took the NBB back to Battlegrounds Paintball in Canton, where they bought it, and he just got surprised at Christmas with the MP5. If he would've just bought the springer a long time ago, he and I could've been playing Airsoft...

The danger in airsoft isn’t how hard they hit, its how authentic they look. A kid is going to be arrested just as fast with a spring pistol in his pants at the super market as he would with a GBB in his pants. That sucks that you might now not have someone close to you to play with but really… its mean and all but there really should be an age limit. I would say 18 sense minors aren’t allowed to buy the guns so that’s a good starting age, but then I feel bad that cool people like you who I know are very responsible with their guns miss out. I guess that’s why here at MiA we base it on the maturity factor. And that’s good, just be careful whom you play with. Think to your self, is this kid going to get us in trouble? Is he going to get us killed? Do I want to take that chance? Hmm. <pondering>

Nice insight Viking... I think that age really doen't matter that much just as long as the person is a mature person who can think before they act. I mean airsoft is kind or geared towards the younger people and the young people are the future of airsoft in michigan. So just as long the yong person has the ability to think before they act, I say let them play....

Ach...I just checked my reply to quote something I said about age, and then noticed I never said anything! I agree with Viking, age is definitely a huge factor, and maturity *usually* comes with age. This kid is a lot mature than any other 12 year-olds that I have/do know (church kids, etc.). The reason I told him to buy the springer was because of the power, was the cheapest out of all the guns (parents couldn't complain about the cost), and also because it wasn't as realistic looking (big orange barrel on the end!). Just my .02.

Well if his parents no longer want him to have the MP5, I'll GLADLY take it.
