The weight of your gear and the faint caresses of fatigue start to take a toll on your psyche. Your mind begins to wander away from the tedium that guarding brings. Less than an hour ago you were back at base camp getting ready for your well earned R and R. After a month in the vacation spa of Springfield, if you consider swatting mosquitoes and eating MRE’s a vacation, you were ready for the leave. If fact you can still feel the sun bake into your face as you sat waiting for the bus from town. That bus never came; instead an immediate mobilization of all available troops was called. Forty-five minutes of being cargo for a deuce and half later find you here, covered in mud, hungry and sick of being mosquito bait. Yet somewhere in the back of your mind you know that in an instant all hell is going to break loose. You start to wonder if your training will be enough. Beads of sweat race down your brow sweeping away with them the dirt and grime that characterize the overworked underpaid and sometimes unappreciated soldier. A stray bead works its way into your eye and the resulting sting snaps you back into reality. You lift and your combat goggles away from your face to wipe away the sweat when you see something. It looked like the shadow of a man moving, or perhaps it was just a bird blocking the sun. Hell, you can’t tell what it was out of the corner of your eye. You tighten the grip on your rifle, hold your breath and hope your imagination simply has the better of you. But your ears don’t lie; first they report a few leaves being displaced, then a branch snapping and a momentary pause. You hear a radio crackle but your channel is clear. Your hands react as if they are possessed. One reaches towards the radio transmit button and the other to adjust your throat mike. Suddenly you are interrupted by a squawk from your own earpiece telling you everything you already know. Your right hand flips the guns firing lever away from the safe setting with your thumb, and your left hand pulls back the receiving bolt. You’re now locked and loaded and breathless. Your heart beats heavy in your chest. It reminds you of the times of old when huge drums of war used to drive on the advancing hordes of mongrels. Not in this century, you murmur under your breath as you draw your gun’s sights up to your eyes and wait, wait for the coming storm. You’ve seen the flash of lightning. Now you wait for thunderous roar from the forge to shatter the thoughts of lesser men. Will you dare to test your mettle against war’s mighty hammer? www.bstab.org/events.php

Hostilities in Springfield, Ohio have escalated and as each day passes it looks less likely for a “diplomatic solution” to materialize. The United Republic of Ohio has already begun building a taskforce to invade. The Ohio Citizens Army is not lagging far behind, but dedicated troopers are still needed to help hold off the enemy. Further escalations of troops and arms will only further confirm what is feared to happen. ALL OUT WAR!! Since this event was posted, a few updates have been made to the rules. Please check the FA-Q for questions about minimum age, mid-caps, and uniform requirements. When you register, please make sure someone from you team registers as a squad leader so that I have a single point of contact for your team. Also please remember, high caps are not allowed at this game, unless you are using a support weapon (again, please see the FA-Q). www.bstab.org/events.php

April 15. Everything is ready to go and plans are set! We are still looking for more recruits and if you have already signed up don’t wait until the last minute to pay! When you pay you confirm your registration to your side and will be eligible to receive your mission briefing… Ok I know what you’re thinking… Player Kit. Well stop right there! Your mission briefing is MUCH MORE then a player kit. Player kits tend to restate the rules and happen to include the general basic idea of what your side will be doing and that is NOT the intention of the mission brief. Your mission brief will come in the form of an Operational Order and will include specific details you will NEED to know in order to be effective at this event including a highly detailed mission map. In addition we intend to supply a colored laminated map to everyone that confirms their registration ahead of time, if you don’t pay until the last minute you will be left out! In addition as more people confirm their registration it will allow us to further develop the mission profile (SF) and allow us to issue later frag and warning orders. -But fear not! This event is already going to be action packed, so please remember to bring lots of BBs. PLEASE REMEMBER HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINES ARE NOT ALLOWED! Once you receive your player kit, please ask any questions by emailing me directly. Do not compromise your operation by posting on public forums. And again, a huge “thank you!!” to everyone for their continued support in making this happen!

Operation Wolf Forge is in full swing. With over 90 people enlisted and players confirming registration every day you won’t want to miss this event! But you need to act now if you want to be part of this campaign! Due to a change in circumstances we are no longer going to be able to accept payment at the door. If you have an extenuating circumstance that will not allow you to pay ahead of time, please let us know, and we will do everything in our power to accommodate you. Don’t worry registration only takes a few minutes and there is not a player cap. Also remember if you are going to send a cashier check by mail, please remember to send it out by Tuesday May 8 as you will not want to be in a situation where your payment is in the mail, and you are at the door! We are accepting paypal though Wednesday May 9. If you are planning on camping remember that anyone staying overnight will owe $5 to the field owner, even if you are not planning on playing. Also check the site to download the field waiver at ww.bstab.org/events/HSR_waiver.pdf
