Airsoft N.E.W.B.s – Nobody Else Wants Beginners
Are you new to the scene? Don’t know how or where to begin. Is everybody calling you a newb or newbie? Need experience? Come join us!
That’s right; I’m starting up a team of beginners.
No experience necessary.
18 and older.
No equipment needed to join (I will supply some springers and goggles to practice with), but know that you will need to rent/purchase better equipment if you want to play in serious events.
Very flexible, play/practice when you want, but keep in mind, when we start going to events, I will be choosing from the more experienced players to represent us as a team.
Your location doesn’t matter to me. I have a member in Traverse City, Grand Rapids, Shelby TWP, etc... Although the majority of us are in the Detroit area (I’m in Clawson). What does matter are the locations we come up with to practice, and how much everybody is willing to drive. Unfortunately I can’t really tell you that, until more people with places to practice at join the team. And you have to decide yourself whether you are willing to make the drives.
I will be setting up an online forum (hopefully through miairsoft and/or semiairsoft), which we can use for communication, finding places to play, people to play with, setting up games, etc… As our experience increases, we will start to go to larger more organized events. I have noticed that a lot of the larger events are a couple hours west of the Detroit area, along 94 or towards the Grand Rapids area. But there are some medium to large size events around (Wixom for example) here to keep us busy also.
One neat thing I’m doing with the team is setting up a ranking system. Something similar to the army. You start out as a private, and work your way up the ranks of the team by your experience in practices, games, events played, weapons usage and owned, equipment usage and owned, etc… On eBay you can actually get the rank patches for real cheep, pretty cool. I’ll probably even supply those to the team myself.
I plan on working on all this throughout the month of March, hopefully even starting up some practice games by the end of the month. I’ll be sure to keep everybody up to date on things. A few of us are going to make an appearance at Dirty Dozen’s first weekly game of the year on Sunday, March 18th in Wixom(not to play, just to check out the scene and hopefully recruit some players). So feel free to come meet some of us. Here is a link with the event info: miairsoft.proboards70.com/index.cgi?board=events&action=display&thread=1161351128&page=3
So that’s about it. Hopefully I’ve talked you into giving us a try. If so, e-mail me at jdrowell15@aol.com or PM me and I will add you to the roster, and send you the rank spreadsheet. Also, please include any of the below information that applies to you.
Any questions don’t be afraid to ask!! I've been wandering the forums for over a month now.
Thanks!
