Well, considering the last time a recruitment thread for our team was posted was sometime back in 2005, methinks it's time to post a new one.
First, an introduction:
I am 1st Lt. Sniper Wolf, and I represent SFOD of the Flint/ Davison/ Grand Blanc area. My job is to recruit and train rookies that wish to join our team, hence why I am here.
Second, the dealio:
We have about 10 active members in the team, and we are looking to recruit a few more. There is an active heirarchy of rank that goes from our leader (Cpt. Grey Fox) down through to our new recruits to maintain order and an organized setting to add to the milsim environment we set forth.
Third, the recruitment policy:
1) Experience is not required by any means, we'll provide training and work with you if needed to sharpen your skills.
(We have mostly ages 19 and up on our team, though there are four 16 year olds that each come out from time to time.)
[Let me first say that we promise membership to no one. We have had some very responsible 14 year olds come out, and then we've had some real asshat 20 somethings apply. We judge people on an individual basis, and with that said, all ages are welcome to apply].
2) You MUST provide your own gear. For the most part, camo is not a huge deal- but PLEASE PLEASE PLASE, if you want to be a serious member of our team, you must have your own weapon (Loaners may be possible for special circumstances, such as if a weapon breaks or you are new and do not have a gun quite yet, but you must eventually own your own gun and are expected to maintain it).
3) We do not do on-the-spot recruitment. As a general rule of thumb, if you're an arrogant bastard and think you're just the cat's pajamas and you're the new god of airsoft- plan on us telling you to have a nice day and good luck with that whole finding a team thing.
Our recruitment policy is simple: we dont care how many kills you get in a game, or how awesome you are, or any of that. We want the people we can sit in a carpool with for 4 hours on the way to an op and not want to strangle by the time we get out of the car. (Although we really like it when you're able to follow instructions well and take constructive criticism with grace- but that's kinda given). We're not looking for super soldiers, we're just looking for a few really cool guys to come out and play for our team and have a good time.
Fourth, the sales pitch:
We at SFOD work very hard, in a lot of different areas:
1) we are constantly expanding and building on our 2 CQB facilities and cleaning up our 2 woodland arenas.
2) We have frequent training days in which team members practice room clearing and stealth exercises, as well as teaching new techniques and approaches for various situations.
3) We take the game we all love very seriously and try to provide a very milsim environment and expect everyone to follow orders given by officers.
But at the same time, while we work very hard, we play very hard too and have several team outings each month where we sit around and grab-ass/ BS, go out to eat at late-night building parties and go see movies in full camo together.
If you feel like you'd like to join our team, please feel free to drop me a line or post on here and I'll make sure to contact you and invite you out to a game so you can come out and meet the team.
