Search Google...But, plate carriers are vests that body armor plates can be put in(not in airsoft), they have modular enable it to carry pouches.

Specifically, a plate carrier will carry hard armor plates designed to stop rifle rounds, but not the soft armor that most vests use to defeat pistol rounds and shrapnel. A plate carrier will only protect you from the front and rear, not from the sides. Most of the newer plate carriers will let you attach gear to them, but the old ones didn't.

Arc, I'm pretty sure you can get vests that will hold side plates. Tactical Tailor sells them I believe.

So they're pretty much just like tactical vest than have slots that you can slide armor plates into?

They are mainly used as Body Armor(In the real war), but most soldier decided to put pouches on it instead of carrying a Tac Vest.

Its posted in my gear thread, but here it is again, HSGI Wasatch w/ BH Hydration carrier. I plan on ditching the regular hydration pouch and getting the backpack style one. Along with a couple other assorted pouches. I say $80 should cover the remaining pouches.

Go with Boondock's setup Achilles or Red Robin. That baby is sweet. I finally saw one in person last weekend Boondock. That thing is worth every penny!!! Achilles- The only thing about plate carrier that I dont like is that some brands and different models can be deceiving. If youre looking at getting one, make sure to go to a couple games and see it anyone has what you are looking at, and try theirs on. For example Condor (Not bashing them, as they make excellent stuff). I saw some pics online of their standard Multicam Plate Carrier, never seeing it in person and it looked like it was big enough to compare to a tactical vest (like the B-Hawk ones I posted on pg.1) But once I tried it on, being the slim guy I am (Yeah right) it barely came down to my belly button. Basically, the type of plate carrier with the bare essentials is the model with just the front and back panels, two shoulder straps, and buckles on the sides.( www.airsoftarms.com/view_product.php?ProductID=8441&product_name=Condor%2C+Multicam+Modular+Operator+Plate+Carrier) It is definitely made for smaller guys. So if you are smaller go with one of those, since most likely it will fit you really good. If you want a larger plate carrier go with a model with Cummerbunds. ( www.skdtac.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=42) They give you more support around the sides and are really comfortable. In the real deal PC's w/Cummerbund, some guys put extra armor in their cummerbunds. It's not as ridgid and strong, but it will keep some of the crap from getting to them.

But once I tried it on, being the slim guy I am (Yeah right) it barely came down to my belly button. Dude, thats how a plate carrier, or any rig for that matter is suppose to fit. Think of it this way, If a ceramic plate protruded anywhere below your belly button your flexibility around your midsection would be severely hampered. And thus, the probability of death is greatly increased. If you want a larger plate carrier go with a model with a Cummerbund. Not necessarily true, Rhodesian rigs, as well as stand alone plate carriers are just as adjustable as plate carriers with cummerbunds and in most cases are more flexible for us larger folk. Take my Warlord for example, I extended the adjustment strap all the way and it had enough room to fit me and then some. If you know me, you know thats a shocker. EDIT: I'm wrong, go figure.

I know that now. Like I said, I expected the plate carrier to be larger since I in the pics I saw it looked similar to a tac-vest. As far as the model with the cummerbunds goes, I stand by my opinion. I think they're bigger and more comfy whether they really are or not...I have nothing else to say

I'm wondering where i can find a replica HSGI Wasatch. Just something along the lines for about under 100 bucks? I've been searching, couldn't find one in OD.
