The Story
In the very near future, North Korea has been developing and testing missile and nuclear technology. In June '06, rumors of a new TaeDong 2 missile being tested were dispelled by South Korean spies. Since that time, it has come to light that the South Korean spies were mis-lead. As the world slept comfortably under the notion that they were safe from North Korea, testing in
secret continued. North Korea, in it's long history of flipping off the world, launched a new missile. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) now possesses a weapon that can strike the United States.
With the new missile landing in Nebraska, the citizens in the U.S. are suffering from mass panic. Not since the Cold War have they been directly threatened by a sovereign nation. Due to the mass hysteria from their constituents, Congress has pushed the White House to take IMMEDIATE action against North Korea. Diplomatic and 'covert' actions have been utilized since the launch of the missile. U.S. military divisions and hardware are preparing to move into a position to launch an invasion of North Korea. In the UN Security Council, the Chinese and Russians refused any attempts other than diplomatic sanctions against the DPRK.
Just yesterday, South Korean spies reported with credible evidence that DPRK has obtained nuclear capability and is in the process of building a new bomb. Their warhead design is one that can be carried by their new missile...
Ill prepared to handle this new nuclear threat, the U.S.,
Japanese and South Koreans launch an invasion. The outcome of this conflict will determine if the world will be held hostage.
The US Side:
The "Motivation"
We've just been hit. Thankfully not by a nuclear or explosive device. But the fact that the DPRK has the ability to hit me is not cool. We must take them out before they strike for real. Those pussies in the UN don't acknowledge the danger of a nuclear North Korea, with a reliable long-range delivery system. At least the Japanese and the South Koreans are willing to help.
The"Plan"
We're forced to leave most of our heavy equipment behind to preserve speed and surprise. We're having three Air Assault missions to attack LZ's Michigan, Indiana and Ohio (names can be changed, just looking for something other than Alpha, Bravo and Charlie) near the Chinese/DPRK border. The South Koreans, with naval assistance from the Japanese, are making a push across the DMZ. Casualties will be high, but we hope to spread the DPRK thin so we can find and destroy all
missile and nuclear technology.
The "Mission"
To establish an LZ to bring in troops and equipment. Either push the DPRK in this region back further into their country, or to bypass them to effectively cut them off. LZ Ohio (our division's LZ) is the smallest of all the incursions. We
have limited number of helicopters and air support at our disposal. With the short time frame, many of the available air assets have be allocated to other regions in this war. Either we succeed, or the world will change forever.
The DPRK's Side:
The "Motivation"
We've lived according to the rest of the world for too long. The
ones with the Nukes make the rules...and it is our time to make the rules. Our missile test was a great success. The world is not shaking from our awesome might. Dear Leader's plans to frighten the powers of the world has worked. Once we have our nuke, no one will dare stop us from unifying Korea once again. Unfortunately our actions have worked a little too well. As we speak our brothers to the South with their allies are mobilizing against us. We must hold them back until our nuke comes on line.
The "Plan"
To stop foreign incursion onto our land. We launched a missile without a warhead, and they attack us!?! They must pay for this. Our forces are to keep factories, cities and research facilities safe. We will engage our foes in the field. We'll hit them hard so they cannot establish a strong beachhead or area of operation.
The "Mission"
In the proceeding hours, enemy aircraft have been rocking our country with their bombs. It is odd however that our sector hasn't really been hit. The invasion must be occurring somewhere else. Oh well, unless Dear Leader says otherwise, we are to hold this hill.
