I got an M16A2 in tonight, and I noticed an oddity, it seems to be shooting way low(with hopup adjusted). So I took off the front handgaurd and noticed the barrel is bent downward, not so much to put a kink in it but enough to notice even with the grips off. Now this doesn't sit well with me but being as this is the first gun I've looked at like this, I'm wondering if this is something that is normal should it curve downward? Or does this mean I'll be trying to straighten it and ultimatly getting a reinforced outer barrel sooner than expected. Any help would be appreciated, and it was this way out of the box I didn't smack into anything, or do anything in particular to harm it. THanks.

It should NOT curve down. However you’re talking about the outer barrel right? If it’s slight enough of a bent as to NOT bend the inner barrel then there’s nothing wrong, other then the fact that your gun looks lame. A curved outer barrel will not mess up the function of your gun unless it interferes with the inner barrel or the exiting of your bbs.

Yeah it is the outer, and it's gotta be causing problems since with it adjusted as far as the sights allow and hopup adjusted I'm still hitting way low. Say 2 feet at 25 feet(may be a little better but it's bad). None the less I'm gonna take it down tonight and see if I can think up a good way to straighten it, or it must be time to get a first factory outer barrel. Thanks.
