You don't need to upgrade your gun. You should stick with TM they're much better quality then ICS. Just because you can shoot at 400+ FPS (Which is a bit high for most AEGs but it's your choice) doesn't make it any better. You won't have to deal with engagement limits, and I've taken out many opponents with my non-upgraded TM MP5-A5.

He's right...a 400fps AEG will lock you out of MANY games around here, either that or you'll have to stay like 50ft away from anybody...and as mentioned in other threads, shooting at a high fps does not always mean a significant increase in your effective range...it just means it'll hit harder, but this game is not all about the pain, *right*? it's just about tagging the other person. If you are deciding to become a sniper, then yes, higher FPS would be recommended, but not with an AEG...
***On a side not, I am only another noob, so my points might not even be valid at all...hehehe...
But I do sell a lot of AEG's so I can tell you this for sure...TM will save you money in the long run just because they'll last so much longer due to their overall high quality...
Hope this helps,
Dex

Sorry I don't keep a pen and paper in my tac vest and record my kill ranges. Trust me, you're better off with a TM. If you want to get an ICS fine... several of us have already made that mistake. They try to get you to buy them with their flashy upgrades and metal bodies, but they suck. Period.

What good is a metal body when the piston is locked back and the gears are stripped?

It doesn't matter if it's a "group" or if it's "friends" it's just a smart thing to do so you don't unload full auto with a 350+ FPS AEG on your friend. It's not pretty I've seen it.

The XM isn't that bad of a gun. It's major downside is the majority of it's parts are plastic, but that can be fixed if you put the money into it. Looks good. It's all up to you in the end though.
