Starting to put together the details for my SPR project. I am trying to go for realism and of course that means I am going to need a replica ACOG. I see that G&P makes 2 versions that run about 150-200 dollars. Anbody have any experience with these or any others. Please let your buddy ole pal Ice here know about it.

Well, if you are going for realism, I think that a replica of the Leupold M3 scope would be more appropriate for a SPR.

i think if your going for the ACOG look, go with the Bushnell Trophy: www.bushnell.com/general/riflescopes_trophy_73-0132p.cfm ive got one on my 10/22 right now but it would be coming with me to the game this weekend. i love that scope. all the info you would need is on the bushnell website. i payed 200 for it but im pretty sure you can get it a lot cheaper. trying to support my local gun shop!

Man Bushnell is making cheaper versions of everything! First EoTech, now Trijicon....is Aimpoint next? Wierd.
For 150 bucks that's a good deal, considering you'll be getting a warranty and know for sure it's going to be quality. Only thing that sucks is you can't add iron sites.

EOTech authorized the Bushnell copy. and i believe they already have a copy of the Aimpoint already I have nothing else to say a friend of mine has what looks like an Aimpoint on his gun and he said it was a Bushnell. i could have heard wrong though. and the ACOG replica doesnt do the real Trijicon ACOG justice. the one problem with the real ACOG though is that you cant see the rectical when you are in a really dark room, it sucks in light using that little tube on top of the optics.

I think its a copy of the baby Acog. I forget the official name of it, but the smaller ACOG.

I've got a red dot ACOG replica from G&P and it's solid. The only thing I would recommend, is getting the red dot, not the red crosshair type.

Eye relief? Try using a G36 tac-handle scope so you can see... says the guy who can't wear his glasses during a game. Check shortyusa for their TPG ACG sight.... looks good to me (squints)

I thought bushnell came out with the halosight and EOtech just beefed them up?

Noooooooooooooo HK had a holosite in the 80s. It was a huge monsrosity that was as long as the MP5.

The holosight in its current incarnation is an invention of EOTech that was licensed to Bushnell for production. EOTech was a spinoff of the company I work with, and I used to eat lunch with one of the holosight engineers.

I remember those early HK Holosights, they looked like maglites sitting on the top of the MP5A2.
Back on topic, ICE, you should pick up the G&P 4X ACOG. Im getting one for my PTW and have done a lot of research, theyre pretty good. And for a SPR, your not gonna want just a red dot that looks like an ACOG. You need the magnification.

That one G&P NSN ACOG 4x I had that I let Phantom use SUCKED. Maybe something was wrong with it but it was adjusted all the way one direction and still not sighted and the damn cross hair markings would go out of focus sometimes and you had to smack it around to make the numbers next to it readable again.
I don't know it sucked. Was the whole reason I invested in my real EOTech, I wanted something of decent quality I could use on both my real M4 and Systema M4.
On a flip note, everyone else who has ever actually owned one I've spoken to loved them. I'm still voting on mine being defective but it was enough to make me not want knock off optics anymore.
