OK i am having a big problem rite now and im wondering if any of u guys could help me out. My bro just got this new tm m4a1, a 9.6v 1100 mah, and a standard 600 mah mini. I just got this 50 dollar top charger. I each time i would charge the bat. i must of put the voltage to high to about 2 volts per 600 mah and i thought i was on the rite one cuz the batery is 600 mah. i looked at it after i charged the bat. and i realized i was wrong cuz it says its to be only 1.2v per 60 mah on the mini bat. I guess it was to late cuz i charged the bat. not knowing i had done the charging incorrectly so i put it on my bros m4 and then it started going crazy! smoke and sparks. I was and still am really worried that i mite hav not only messed his bat. up but i could hav messed his gun up aswell. I then discharged the bat. the turned the lil voltage down to about 1 volt per 110 mah. So i fast charged for a lil while and i put it on his gun and i mite not of charged it enogh cuz the gun didnt fire only the gears moved a lil bit. So this mite mean that i had screwed the bat. Im now worried that the gun coulda been affected cuz i charged his 9.6v with the standard charger for about an hour which is barely anything. I tried that and it didnt fire with i assumed it would do but then it started smokin like the others did. Could the gun be affected by this basically???

When you're shooting the gun (when it starts to smoke), is the battery smoking (out of the firegrip), is the gearbox smoking (out of the reciever), is the motor smoking (out of the pistol grip and probably lower reciever), or any other part? What is smoking? If it's the motor or the mechbox, you'll feel the grip or reciever getting hot, respectively. If it's the battery, you'll feel the foregrip getting hot (all of this along with the smoke and sparks).
How long did you charge each battery?
You said you set it for 2 volts per 600 mAh? Do you have a link to the charger you have? Would it be possible to get some pictures posted of the various settings on your charger, and different adjustments available, that kind of thing? Usually you set chargers for a voltage for the voltage of your battery. My charger has settings for 7.2, 8.4, and 9.6. Two volts is barely two cells. If you set it for your mAh, you usually won't be setting a voltage level, you'll be setting a mA level. This is sort of the section of your post that i don't quite understand. Battery cells have a predetermined volatege based on their chemical composition and all that stuff that i don't really understand. mAh is usually determined by the size of the cell.
You may have a setting on your charger that you can set between 110-220v. You need to adjust that based on the outlet in your house that you're using. Most large appliances (washing machines, etc.) run off of 220v outlets, where as your TV runs off of a 110v outlet. That could be an issue, whether you adjusted that one or not, or it's set wrong.
When you charge up your battery, charge it until it's warm (not hot). You should be able to comfortably hold it in your hands. That's how you determine if it's done.
The more information you can give, the more we can help you.
If the gun isn't smoking from the reciever or the pistol grip, then it's probably not damaged, just the battery.
And in the future, never partially charge your battery. In NiCAD's, it decreases the life span, they develop what is known as a memory. Without going into detail, it was what it sais, your battery will only charge up to what you charged it to previously. It doesn't always happen on the first charge, it develops over time, just try not to do it.
This brings me to another question, what type of battery are you using? NiCAD? NiMH? something else?

Well good news jdl_9th. I fixed it or i mean my bro fixed it. U know in the tm m4a1 how there is a plastic peace inside of the gun where the the foregrip is. When i installed his upgrades(first factory outer barrel and tight bore bs barrel i for got to put those plastic peices inside the foregrip and these plastic peacies attach directly to the outer barrel in this case the first factory barrel. My bro attached and no more smokin so its all good and thanks for replying jdl_9th.
