Hi, im looking for a new gun but am not sure whats the best for what I do the most. I started out with a Y&P Famas that broke quite fast and I didnt like the Bullpup style of it. Im leaning towards a MP5-K or a PDW, but my friends have better outdoor guns and thats what we usually do and from what I hear the MP5-K and PDW are great indoor but arent very nice for long range outdoor games. What would you suggest for a good all around gun that isnt to big and does exceptionly well indoors and outdoors and can be upgraded?

I have nothing else to say so you are looking for the gun we all are i see ;D but seriously I have nothing else to say I agree with Jacko m4 or sr16. Any aeg is usless though if you don't know how to use it. I have taken out a few people using aegs while I was using a spring deasert eagle and these were out door games in around a 160 achre woods. so basicly what I am tryin to say is get what ever gun you like and fit's how you play personaly not where you play persay ( and stick with tokyo marui ;D )

Check out the "Newbie FAQ" in the newbie section of ouf forum, it should help you answer your own questions.
I use a PDW, and before i upgraded it, i could hold my own against any other AEG on our team. Acctual range isn't effected by barrel length. EFFECTIVE range is what added barrel length will increase. And that gap won't be very large. if you can close in a few more yards, you'll have no problem accurately reaching your target. The only place in which i had a range problem was in a completely wide open field where the only cover was laying down in the waist-high grass. If you like the PDW, get it. Don't settle for something else because you think you will get less range than people with long barreled rifles. You will have extra mobility and skinnier mags that are easier to handle when you reload.
The PDW can be upgraded if you don't mind an external battery bag on the back. Newman and I rewired my gun to connect the battery out onto the stock. if you want to know how, PM me. It was pretty easy.

Theres always the larger mp5's. I am personally planning on getting an sd5 pretty soon, which I would be using in both outdoor wooded and (semi) CQB enviroments. I would also suggest m4. When it comes down to it it will be your choice, just remember to take in to consideration battery capacity, uniqueness (if you dont want to be like everyone else), and price. In the end it basically boils down to what you think looks better.
