Airsoft Atlanta is selling only 9.6 volt 600 mAh batteries for their MP5A5 and MP5SD6 AEGs(since the A4 and SD5 use the large size batteries). When I bought my MP5SD6 and battery from them, they were only selling 8.4 volt 600 mAh minis and 1300/1800 mAh large batteries. Why would they only sell an "upgraded" battery for those guns? Won't that either lower the 'lifespan' of those AEGs, or worse, strip the gears or something? I'm concerned because my friend wants to buy the MP5A5 (won't listen to me about buying the A4 because of the stock) and I don't want the gun to break because of the 9.4 volt battery making his gun shoot a lot higher BPM (balls per minute). Help?

I dont think it would damage your gun. I believe that you might need to get a faster motor though for it to help. With a faster motor you would definitely increase the ROF. I would say that you might want to ask redwolf too. they are lots of help.
