The second saga in my DIY series. Now will will look at a more challenging project.
I had hoped to have this for OP: Redout, but the airsoft gods were against me. The plan, was to use this as part of the radio gear but it can be used a much, much more.
What you need:
"Project Box" (I used a 5"x2.5"x1.5" box)
Full Size Toggle Switches
Safety Covers
Wire
Light(s) (Panel or LED recommended)
1/2" drill bit
Other drill bit(s) (depends on the lights you use)
Drill (not necessary but helps!)
Screw Driver(s) (I needed a Phillips)
Pillars (recommended)
Knife
Pencil or other marking device
The How To:
The first step is to layout what you want your device to look like. And Remember, measure twice, cut once. After that, drill the holes for you switches and lights.
-Here you see the holes I have drilled and one of the toggle switches mounted.
The next step is to mount your hardware in the fashion you layed out. I went with three switches on the bottom and three lights on the top of the face of the box.
The next, and probably most annoying, step is the wiring. This takes some thought as well. You need to decide what switch will activate what light or other device on your box. I opted for the layout in which the switch below the corresponding light activated said light.
Finally, add a power source (I am currently using a (9V battery), close your box and turn it on!
-As you can see I added a fourth light in the end.
Future:
1) I Plan to add an [RC] antenna to the box to help complete the look
2) Paint - I have already painted the [unseen] back and plan to paint the rest in OD some time in the future.
