Project Aurora - A black project to build a hypersonic reconnaisance aircraft to replace the SR-71. For decades there have been rumors, sightings and conspiracy theories. Still, there is no concrete evidence that the project ever existed. That is, until today!
Off the coast of Kaliningrad, USS Sentinel watches quietly; gathering intel. Unaware of the events about to take place mere miles away.
"Code red! I say again, code red! We're going down!", the pilot of the Aurora barked into his comm. Seconds later he was ejected from the cockpit, into the darkness of night.
The aircraft rips through trees below, then explodes, leaving a trail of fire and smoke in its wake. Nearby, villagers stir.
Meanwhile, an urgent radio transmission is sent from an observation post deep in the wilderness...
This is the setting of Black Aurora. A top secret aircraft crashes in a volatile country. The U.S. must destroy the technology and gather the black box before it gets into enemy hands. The villagers know where the plane went down, but can they be trusted? And what about the search party already being mobilized by local militia? A conflict seems imminent. And what of the rumors of weapons of mass destruction being stored in the area?
BlackEagle is putting together a milsim event with roleplaying aspects you may not have experienced before. Some of the objectives being considered...
- Rescue/Capture stranded pilot
- Destroy/Acquire sensitive technology from aircraft wreckage
- Retrieve data from black box
- Convoy assault/defense
- Interact with villagers, roleplayers and/or a shadow element
- Early morning mission before dawn being considered
- Find hidden items and clues
- Many more objectives and surprises in the works
- Players can roleplay as special forces, navy seals, rangers or marines. Each will have its own dress code and it will be up to the leaders of the U.S. team how these forces are implemented.
The planning for this event is in its final stages. Please have patience while we iron out the rest of the details. Photos of the field will be posted sometime this weekend (within the 03/04/06 thru 03/05/06 window).
