I have been looking at a S.T.R.I.K.E molle Harness from blackhawk, also looking at some off brand load bearing and molle rigs.Like the sds(special defense system) R.A.C.K gear. For the people who have Blackhawk,Eagle Industries, ect. Is it absolutely worth the extra cash? Thanks for reading ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I own a SOTech hellcat, and am happy to say it was worth every penny (though it didn't cost me all that much). Honestly, repro gear is almost universally disappointing to me...most of the stuff I've seen just doesn't stand up well to hard use.
That said, if you're going to buy blackhawk, you may as well buy the HK knock-off stuff. Try tactical tailor, SOTech, Eagle, or some other good american company if you want good, quality gear.
Edit: yes, I am a gear snob. Sometimes it's nice to be a responsible adult with a bit of disposable income.

Blackhawk is an off brand. SDS is decent but far from l33t. Look at Tactical Tailor, SoTech, or Diamondback Tactical's BattleLab gear if you're looking for military quality gear at a sane price. Eagle has possibly the best rep in the business, but like Paraclete it costs noticably more, and for airsoft you'll never see any reason to spend the extra money.

Can you tell us your budget? I'm sure we could post some specific examples if we knew how much you're willing to spend.

Well I have seen the STRIKE Gen-4 Molle System LBE Harness for about $75 some place(cant remember)but my budget would be $80 possibly $90.(buying Andrews p90 so cash is limited)really want molle/load bearing chest rigs. (however putting my dollars to American labor is very self rewarding)and thanks a lot for your support on helping me find some quality gear.

Are you planning on buying any modular pouches or are you looking for built in?

Hmm, $90 will be hard to stretch if you want to get a platform and pouches. Your best bet would be to get a TacticalTailor MAV body and some TT Triple Mag Pouches. Two or three pouches and the body will run you about $100.

TT is having the mother of all sales. A 2-piece MAV in OD or woodland for $35 is a frickin' steal. Pick up a Y-harness for another $30 and you're good to go. Edit: You go, Jacko! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

If you want plates, look at Diamondback Tactical's BattleLab Plate Carrier. It's $90 by itself but you can buy the RACK attachment that will give you a sorta vest look when you get more cash. It's the cheapest plate carrier I've seen off memory but any plate carrier will soak up your limited budget quick.

what gear do you guys have?+I think I may just go with the MAV.however the reason i wanted a plat carrier wasn't so much for the plates.Just I just want a hydration bladder, some ammo pouches, radio pouch,cross-draw holster(maybe),and possibly a little more.I will get karma for you guys as soon as i can put more on.I appreciate it ;D (modified)What about the plate carrier over at tactical tailor?

Like Zorak said, a MAV with an X harness will probably do you just fine and you can put a hydration carrier on it if you want. There's no way you'll get all those pouches plus a vest to mount them on for less than $100 unless you wrangle TT's Woodland sale items.
I'm using a Paraclete Plate Carrier with foam shoulder pads which would run you about $180. Most of my pouches were made by frostee so I got a huge discount on those. The fake plates were $30, I think. All in all, I'd say close to $300 worth of gear.

This is what I use. If you're purchasing a P90, it may not be the best choice, but the 6 internal .223 mag pouches are awesome for someone using an M4 or any weapon with similar magazine size. It holds AK mags well, but only 5, due to the shape of the magazines. Hadoken used to have a MAV, he seemed quite pleased with it at the time, and that deal is amazing, especially considering the quality and lifetime guarantee provided by Tactical Tailor.
