I always see players walking accross creeks, up to their knee's, so I know water is going over the top of them. Doesnt that cause blisters and everything? And Don't they smell terrible after a while? I would think that in an airsoft game, that wouldnt be smart, seems like it would ruin your boots.
I'll go in up past my ankles, but not much farther, I don't want water getting in... Or should I not worry about that?
Thank you, - Kev

While I haven’t been crossing any bodies of water while airsofting the same boots I use for airsoft have had their share of over the top water. I have been using a pair of Browning waterproof tac boots for 2 years and they have been great. Now, to address your questions; The best way to prevent blisters is a comfortable pair of boots that fit properly. Blisters are caused by friction between your skin and something (like a boot) rubbing against it. So a good pair of socks and boots that fit properly will greatly reduce the chance of you getting a blister(s). If you have water in your boots it will not affect you getting a blister much if at all, however the extra weight does make running more challenging.
For as much as I use my boots and what they have been through they don't smell nearly as bad as you might think. In all honesty my cross-country shoes smell worse, much worse.
As long as you dry your boots out after you use them and maintain them you shouldn't have any problems. My boots are still useable after 2 years of heavy use and abuse, the only reason I am going to pick up a new pair is because of my own carelessness.
Hope that helps. Toothbrush

Yes, it helps. I have a nice pair of boots, and nice pairs of socks to go with them. I just thought that the water inside would make a lot of friction on its own. Thank you.
