I am interested in picking up a set of SWAT-style BDUs for the upcoming CQB leagues. I've been pulling together the individual parts for a SWAT or urban combat impression (helmet, gloves, kneepads, vest, etc) and I have had some difficulty finding black or dark-blue BDUs. I'm trying to keep costs as low as possible. Where is a good place to pick up dark BDU pants and shirt? It doesn't have to be the real stuff like cops would wear, just something that looks enough like it, and at a reasonable cost.
I would prefer brick-and-mortar stores to internet sources, if possible.

Dickies makes some very solid dark blue work clothes. Not BDUs per se, but they fit the bill.

Also...where, exactly, do you live, Enkidu? If you're in Wayne County, or close, I can hook you up with a great store.

I'd buy from cheaperthandirt, but then I'd just end up buying a whole bunch of extra stuff I don't need 'cause everything is so inexpensive there. Heh...
xaos, I'm close enough to Wayne county (I attend college there). By all means, hook me up!

Metropolitan Uniform...it's in a strip mall on the Corner of Wayne Rd. and Cherry hill in Wayne (the city within the county ). Not only do they have a great selection of BDUs, they also stock a wide variety of boots, as well as Hatch gloves and Blackhawk Tac gear, though most of the gear is black

Yes, their website sucks, but thats ONLY the website. Going into the store is always a great experience. I doubt they do very much online commerce if any at all. Of course you can give them a call and they'll be happy to work with you over the phone but actually going in is probably your best bet.

I'll second that. They've got great in-store service, though I felt kinda outta place, what with all the police officers, firemen, and EMS guys walking around in there.

I do most of my shopping at Metro and of all three of their stores, my personal opinion is that their Downtown (flagship) store is the best, as it relates to stock and customer service.
Though of course you're buying things new and retail and shouldn't be expecting huge discounts, their prices are excellent for what they carry.
