Airsoft Bro, Not to be an ass, But what the hell was the point of bringing back this topic again, and how the hell was this "usefull" to anyone... Go buy a 200lb airconditioner and ducttape it on to your head, See if you can walk, smartass. How about you start contributing to the airsoft community a little bit more, and stop being a post whore... please.. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) (Sorry mods, and members who had to waste their time reading this but i thought he deserved this....)

Don't mind him SWAT, he's not rihgt in the head. Anyways, I have something to add. A few days ago, my dad gave me his old gas mask from the Air Force. I was looking through the bag it comes in, and found this shatterproof lense that fits over the current lense. Ill edit this later with pics. The reason im poking it is to show the soft rubber. ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y89/DarkRyderOmega/Airsoft%20Related%20Stuff/gasmask1.jpg) This is a pic of the mask with the lense on. The little rubber band is to hold it in place. ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y89/DarkRyderOmega/Airsoft%20Related%20Stuff/gasmask2.jpg)

Hmmm, Well, I never thought about that, Soft rubber, Will flex in, instead of taking a hard impact. As long as it is high enough quality to take a bb and not dent, or put a big white ring where the bb hit?
I really think someone should get this idea going, I can sell them on Amp, if there were a way to make them quick and easy, but, I don't know... My whole team says it's a gold mine, and i know it is, but It's just one of thos things that is going to be hard to get anywhere with.

i think it would be easy to fit a PC fan in the filter and hook it up to a 9 volt.

Exactly, I have that ready to go into my current V-Force, I've got it hooked up to the LEDS, I'm going to run a fan off of the 9v soon. But, yes, That's what I was thinking for the filther. And, You can have all the headset accessories and what not sold, so they can jsut velcro, or snap into place... or something, Hell, I'd buy one for sure, as long as it looked like a cool SWAT gas mask.... or army..

In case you cant tell, the rubber lense is the original. The hard one goes over the soft rubber one to make it safe for police use during riots. I was thinking of modding my mask, actually to have a fan.

Go to your local PC shop, and buy a cooling fan for computers. It should not cost a lot, make sure it is small enough to fit inside. Do whatever you have to make it fit, and then run a wire down like some headphones. Into a small utility pouch housing the battery, and the battery compartment. Unless you like to leave batteries uncovered.

What ype mask is it? Do you have a NIIN or NSN? If so, let me know and I'll let you know what filter canister you will need.

I dont really know...where would I look for that info. Also, this mask is from the 1990s (Operation Desert Storm), would that help determine what filter I need?

It's high enough, trust me. The purpose of the flexible barrier is to allow easy use of a weapon sight with proper posture, or a night vision device, and it was designed to withstand the rigors of combat. The plastic overvisor stays on if you aren't armed and fighting, obviously for better protection.
You can get a voice emitter for it too, sos your teammates can understand you (albeit in an evil space-robot warrior voice).

I can't remember what series of mask that is. The new ones are a M40 Pro Mask. If the number is on the mask, it may be stamped in the rubber. The NIIN is a 9 digit number, where the NSN is 13 digits. Just look all over the mask and you should be able to find it.

Yeah, its good enough rubber. I shot it several times point blank with my MP5 and nothing happened, not even a mark. About the model number, I found some markings that say: MSA-02940-34. I checked out Lightfighter tactical, and they have a filter for a very similar mask. Here is the page I found it on: www.lightfighter.com/istar.asp?a=3&dept=PROTEC&class=CBRNWould that work?
