First price isn't a worry as they are the same price. From what i can tell the main features are that Nomex is fire resistant to 800 degrees and the kevlar is cut resitant.
I dont really need either put would there be any large advatage to one over the other for airsoft?
Thanks

There really isn't much a noticeable difference between the kevlar and nomex balaclava, besides the flame resistance of one and cut resistance of the other. The Nomex fiber tends to be a bit thinner and sometimes lighter than the kevler, though it's somewhat negligible.
I have the Hatch Nomex Balaclava (black) and have been pleased with it, that is, if your looking for a recommendation.

Well, think of it this way. Do you run a greater risk of being cut in the face by foliage, or walking into a forest fire?

I would base the decision based on the weight and heat-retaining qualities of each one, since you'll be wearing it in our nice muggy MI summer weather.

Thanks all... since it appers that the Kevlar has some fire retardantness + cut resistance i am going with that.

you don't need a balaclava for airsoft take it like a man.

Wether you where a balaclava or not when you got shot in the face or head area it hurts about the same with or without. Maybe a bit less painfull, but non the less not to much of a difference, ;D Get the cut resistant. When is the last time you ran into a fire, when playing airsoft? However, when is the last time you ran into branches, pricker bushes and undergrowth that could potential cut/tear clothing?

ive never run face first into a thorn bush in my time playing airsoft... im sorry, maybe you have though
and cut resistant is a lot different then poke resistant (as in thorns can still poke you in the face through this mask, and it will STILL hurt)
id go with nomex for the lighter weight and lesser heat retainment, and since its a synthetic thread, im assuming it should have a comfortable smoothness
