Most military surplus stores will have patches, but a lot of people have issues with airsofters wearing patches (Like SF or Airborne tabs, as an example) they didn't actually earn. I personally don't wear patches of any real army units anymore except for the flag.

Nothing more than a US flag. You earned that when you were born...I have nothing else to say!

As for ISSUES with the patches..being ex-army myself, I personally wouldnt have a problem with someone using my units patches...I still have them on my dress issue uniforms. I would take it as a compliment if I saw my unit out in the field..actually I DO wear my unit patches/insignia to this day in any skirmish I am in... I do see the point of view however...a lot of men have put in a lot of work and even gave their lives. well enuff said..use your own judgement -CP

I've heard former service personnel with both points of view. In the end I'd rather miss the chance to pay a compliment to a vet than risk offending one through my presumption.
It's important to remember that no battle was ever won by "the Marines" or "the 101st Airborne." Individual soldiers from those organizations fought and died. What have you done to earn the right to wear the same insignia as those men? What would you tell them if they asked you to your face?
This is why I've never bid on MARPAT stuff on eBay, even though I think highly of the pattern. You won't see me wearing the eagle, globe, and anchor until I graduate from Parris Island - which is to say, never.
