what do you plan on using it for? that is just one of the many questions you need to think about, also, where would you use it, how, etc....., how much are you willing to spend, and really it just comes down to personal preference

LBV's are nice simply because they're generally cheaper and cooler. However, as we all know, that's not an issue anymore.

Hrm...
LBV = (load bearing) vest
What exactly were you getting at, considering "LBV" and "vest" both mean the same thing?
I'm not really bashings but more of trying to figure out what you really meant.

sorry if i wasnt being clear enough. by "vest" i mean something like a blackhawk vest thing. and by "LBV i mwan something like a padded shoulder strapped, 4 mag pouches, and 2 grenade pouch thing. im pretty sur all of you have seen one i really dont know how to explain it or what certain companies make it.

Ah, I see now. The LBV-88 is what you need to tell people for that vest, now. That's the military designation (as far as I can tell).
I say that we'd need to know what guns and ammo and equipment you're carrying before recommending either type of vest. The LBV-88 is only good for carrying mags and maybe two small bags of bbs, unless you plan on using an ALICE system in addition, like what I did for a while.

I prefer a Vest myself, but it just feels a little more supported I guess. Personally I would check out the Blackhawk vest in the commerce section from galls, run you $50 new, which is very cheap for a "brandname" vest, and the quality is very much up to par in my opinion. I guess check out a couple options, but the vest is the way to go in my opinion.

what you need to get is a LBV, this stuff is great, it hols plunty of ammo and if you attach it to an ALICE belt you can hold even more ammo and canteens and pistol holsters, mine cost me about $100 from Ranger Joe's, it looks good and functions even better (its also the current issue gear to US Army Infantry)
