Well I've been looking through LBV's and assault vests for a while but just kept telling myself I really didn't need one:) And usually the feelings went away. But now, I've done a horrible thing ;D I know many a person with more gear knowledge than me hate BHI but I saw that deal on ASP about the $49.99 Omega vest and I couldn't bring myself to pass it up I had been looking at it for a week or so now. So I bought it, I'm just wondering what peoples opinions are of their current line? I know that it's no longer made in the USA and I'm sure it's gonna cut some but for airsoft? Wouldn't this be sufficient for most players? I also ordered some of the "Galls" specific gear. Namely a set of their knee pads, goggles(which are compliant ANSI), and some tac gloves. Anyone buy any of this stuff from their brand before? Any ideas?
And finally I think the addiction is taking over and I will need more and more gear, since I just spent about $120 and didn't blink I think I will end up being a gearbo, goodbye cruel world:)
Luke
P.S. Yeah I'm in a weird mood but I am looking for some info on the Galls stuff mostly:)

I've been looking for a vest as well, within the same price range. Do you think you can give me a link of the site (if you bought it from somewhere online) that the vest was on?

I added the GALLS BH Vest sale to the commerce section a week ago: miairsoft.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=commerce&action=display&n=1&thread=9982Very good deal. Though I hear they've been shipping out the newer vests that include the "sniper shoulder" which is great and all if you like that sort of thing. But I'd prefer the vest pictured in the ad. As for GALLS specific gear, I haven't had any experience with their products so far (They should send me some to review!!), but from the looks of things they're probably up to par with BHI and simular companies. And finally....WOOHOO@more geardos

Yeah I thought you had posted it here but I wasn't sure:) So I figured since I knew I was on ASP so I mentioned that.
But yeah I'm pretty excited to get it, I've decided that I really would like to do a CQB outfit, something either SWAT or SEAL look. Which for as into it as I am now I would say I'm just getting what I think looks cool and will work:) I will say though you guys need to not talk about so much cool gear or I will never have any money:) I have nothing else to say I almost bought a SIR this week because of this. But when I get my stuff in, I will write up a review for everyone on the quality of the Galls gear, and Hado and others can check it out at Firebrand:) Thanks.

I'd be a geardo too, if I had the money Next for me is some flecktarn, with LBV and pouches to match...once I save up some cash and pay my truck insurance, I have nothing else to say. After that, I'll set up a CQB outfit...not that I'll ever use it, as there's really nowhere to do CQB anywhere remotely in my area. How much did those gloves cost you, Luke? I still need some gloves, but don't want to shell out $50+, and I'm not sure I like the nomex gloves.

Sorry to not get back to you on the gloves I must have missed that there were more posts in this thread:) But I got my stuff in today:) Unfortunatly at work, and since I'm at a school and the UPS guy drops off a Galls package, with stuff all about public safety on the side and while walking back to my office with the box I pass a cop in the halls:) Who's eyeing my box, anyways quite entertaining. Okk back on topic.
Gloves ran 11.99 And quality looks good but I haven't gotten into them to much yet. I will when I get outside of the school and home:)
Tactical goggles 19.99 Look very good pretty sturdy vents may be a concern they are larger than a BB and only covered by thin foam, I think I will have to find a way to remidy that.
Knee pads 12.99 Look really nice and I haven't taken to much time with them either yet.
BHI Omega vest 49.99 This had my attention from the get go. I haven't dealt with much if any good gear so anything would have blown my mind:) So this thing rocks it's at least double stitched in most places looks really solid. Overall I'm quite impressed, and if BHI is as bad as hado and other people say I can't wait to get some SO Tech or something else on the gearbo level:) So thats it for now expect some pics and a mini review tonight when I get home:)
Luke
EDIT: Sorry about all the smiley's but I get excited easy especially when quitting smoking ;D

Just wondering, did you receive the vest pictured in the ad or one of the newer models with the sniper shoulder?

I got the newer one with the Sniper shoulder. I'm not sure how I like the sniper shoulder though it does have a little like hard portion to help you keep your weapon in your shoulder. Gotta jet work bekons

Is a vest really really really worth it? I went for the cheaper deal and got web gear (ALICE). I belt, harnes, mag pouches the whole deal and i like it for outdoors but i havent used it indoors at all. Has anyone used web gear and vests indoors and can they tell me if one is beter than the other and if it is really worth it to go buy one? Thanx

I would say for the deal I got yes. Moreover I like the knee pads more than any other part I think:) I bash my knees everytime I drop I seem to find rocks and whatnot. But for $120 I got my stuff, and I could have easily paid just that for the vest so to me it's worth it. Mostly though I say this, if you want a look go for it. But if you just want to play and invest as little money as possible then use web gear. It works and it's cheap. But $50 for a decent vest is pretty much unheard of so I would say it's worth it for the time being.

Well Blackhawk is no longer USA manufactured(By the way hado anyone who knows correct me if I'm wrong) and thereby not of the quality they used to be nor what other companies are, SO Tech, SOE, so on. So it's not that they are bad gear, but that they aren't as good but for the price I can't see not buying it. Also you may want to check dates on some of these threads, it could have been someone else, but they revived allot of threads. This ones not to old but some of the posts I've been reading have been pretty irrelevant to topic, so I guess back to topic, blackhawk is more than good enough for airsoft. And I spose I don't put my life on the line(well kinda as security for gun shows) with this gear either.
