Presents a T.A.P.S.S. Competition(Tactical Airsoft Pistol Speed Shooting)
May 14th, 2005 - 9am to 6pm

TAPSS is a Practical Pistol target shooting competition and combat training
system based loosely on several real world pistol shooting competitions. It is
designed to allow for safe and honest competition with airsoft gas pistols. The
rules system allows for definitive scoring and a way to compete with yourself
AND other airsofters for bragging rights AND prizes.

Summit Lake Entertainment will be filming this event for a future Video Promo
release!

Registration Fee is $10.00
Registration is limited to 40 participants so
register early!

Competitors are REQUIRED to provide their own GBB pistol, combat style or
service holster, bbs, gas and eye protection. (minimum of wrap around impact
rated safety glasses, see rules for more info)

Prizes will be awarded for 1st thru 3rd place finishers.

Prize Package includes:

1st place: A Tokyo Marui HI CAPPA 5.1 GBB
pistol*. And an Aggressive Sports Joliet $50 Gift Certificate
2nd place: 30 dollar ASJ gift certificate
3rd place: 20 dollar ASJ gift certificate

Door prize of a KWA Glock 19 GBB* to be raffled off by registration number.

Tentative Schedule is as follows:
9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Arrival and gun check in
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM 1st session
1:00 PM - 1:45 PM Lunch Break
1:45 PM - 4:00 PM 2nd Session
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM Finals
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Prizes and wrap up.

Schedule may change depending on attendance numbers.

The following is quoted from Justin at Aggressive Sports (The host of the event)

I just got clearance from my landlord to hold this event in our basement, so the T.A.P.S.S. event will be "underground", but it won't be free. We will need to make a slight change to the admission policy for this reason.

There will be a Pre-Registration deadline of Wednesday, May 11th for the original $10 entrance fee. After the deadline the Registration Fee will increase to $15 up to and including the day-of.

We aren't trying to make anything on this, as we are giving away any proceeds as prizes. Thanks to all volunteers for your assistance and time. Friday night we will do a dry run and give all the judges a chance to try it out in a mini-competition with the winning volunteer winning a prize.

We should have several Police officers attending this also to check it out as contestants, which will be good PR for Airsoft.

I also had a great time yesterday, even though I wasnt competing. Watching each shooter come in an hover over me as I calculated each of thier course scores was quite entertaining

Would have been a lot better if all the people that said they were coming would have come, they missed one hell of a fun day.

I was very surprised how smoothly everything went, thanks padawan for the suggestions you made on course start and stop semantics. I will be amending the rules when I get home (I'm still at my brothers house right now)

This was our "Safe shoot box" used to test fire pistols safely in the staging area.


Because there were so few that attended, we had time for some warm up practice rounds, and time for myself, Justin and some of his employees to run the course a few times. results are as follows... we only used first names, not callsigns. The last number in each following row is the actual score. In case you havent been paying attention, lowest score wins.

Of the practice rounds, overall best score was Terry with 32.58

Highest Target score was me (Caelyn) with 121.

Fastest course time was again Terry with 13.58

These are the official competition scores, there were 2 normal rounds and one final round with the top 4 of the first 2. Final rounds were only chances for the top 4 to improve on thier score. Your best of all your rounds is the one that counts.

It is important to state that niether fast course time nor high target score alone can win you the prizes, you have to have a good combination of both to get the low final score.
