When my M40A1 comes, depending on the type of mount I get, I may not be able to use my PB mask with it, so Im thinking of getting some Goggles and I have a balaclava. I just wanted to know if the balaclava is decent protection, for 98% of the people I play with have stock AEGs and also GBBs so should goggles and a balaclava be decent protection?

I hope so, that's what I got. I bought some military issue goggles and a balaclava.

baclavas are awsome protection. One, they stop bb's from hitting you in the ear(dont ask ) and two, most important, stop them from chipping teeth and going down your throat. I use one a lot except for on the really hot days and i love em, but to answer your question, yes.

Be weary most military issued goggles are nothing more then dust and wind protection, they don't always fulfill the required rating to be used as safe airsoft goggles.

Yeah, I remembered that when I was looking at them. They're scratch and shatter resistant. They cover the whole eye area allowing nothing but air through.

They prolly aren’t ANSI Z87.1, ANSI Z80.3 or ASTM F1776 rated unless it said so on their packaging. The military uses goggles to shield their eyes from sand, dust, etc when exiting helicopters, riding in a convoy, or the like not to shield their eyes from bbs and what not. Although shatter proof does seem kind of interesting, specially since anything can be shattered, just some things at a higher stress level then others.

They are ASTM F1776 rated, I just checked the box. And for $40, they better have been. These are new, non-issued goggles. Bought them in Florida while I was down there. I also shot them with my MP5K while I was down there to test the durability of them out, worked out good.

Ah your post said military issue, so I jumped to the conclusion that they weren’t of adequate rating.
