now i recently purchased a "floor model" of the sureshot 2. It can be seen at www.lasermodule.com/
(btw the only different between the sureshot and sureshot2 is that the sureshot2 is on/off switch, and the other is remote pressure pad)
Anyway, this thing retails at $100 and hooks to guns with rails. I put it in on glock 18.
Before this one i owned a trigger guard mounted laser ($20). It was fine, except it didnt look that great and that the laser would bend down (due to the way it attaches) when i fired in full auto, making it completely useless. Good thing that problem doesnt exist in the sureshot2, due to the fact its rail mounted and much more secure. Dont really need to worry about it moving. Now the "light" part is actually 2 Leds. They apparently operate at like 30-40% of a 90 lumens taclight. They also claim to last longer. Having not ever seen how bright a taclight is, i cannot compare. But in a completely dark room the leds provide enough light to see the other side and know what your shooting at. About the blinding factor... the leds ARE bright enough to annoy you. but i dont think their strong enough to shine down a hallway and make people lose their night vision. Also, the led AND laser go on at the same time (you cant turn them on individually). If your afraid of the led giving your position away i suppose you can always just tape over them and only use the laser (but in turn wasting like $70 when you couldve just bought a laser).
in the end? not worth $100. it looks cool tho, and has decent real life usage. Also, since ive havent seen a light/laser combo for less than $200 (real steel stuff) it becomes the only affordable combo there is (and one of the only ones anyway).
