...or out of ammo because you used lowcaps...or trying to get the lowcap out of your chest pouch but you're on the ground and can't move.
There are positives and negatives to both.

Maybe an electric auto-winding highcap is the way to go.

Hi caps are much easier to load ,and you only have to carry half as many. When i load a mag and wind it all the way usually you can shoot most of the bbs with out winding the mag again ,if you have the time you wind it .If not or you want to be quiet just swap mags.

I think in general...beginners like Hi-Caps more, just because it's a lot more economical and easier to deal with in a game than having to carry 4-6 standard mags and switching them all the time... But then again, if you're experienced and have the $$$, then I think you would much rather have standards for the added realism and the absence of the noises that Hi-Caps make... And as for myself, I like Hi-Caps for one simple reason...I'M A BEGINNER!!! C-mags for that matter. Thank you. Dex

4-6? psssh! I'll have 10 by the time Bigmack's package shows up at my door, plus my side arm.

I guess you could say JDL is gonna be "Packin" and "Travelling Heavy" hehe. Anyhow, I still stand for the standards over the High-Caps, just a matter of preference I suppose. ;D

i like standards personally...i can carry 6-7 M16 mags and when i get my 9MM conv. kit i will be carrying an extra 4 Uzi standard mags
EDIT: I have nothing else to say, bigmack o remember when u bought all those standard mags for the G3 with all that metal stuff and my M203. ;D
breakdancer, I have nothing else to say @ CMAG breaking gun....it was more of a hosing issue that stripped the gears....i guess it doesnt really matter but most of us FLAG guys find it funny how u blame it on the CMAG. but hey, u gotta blame it on somethin' right? I have nothing else to say ;D

I prefer standards because of the bb rattle in highcaps, and to a degree highcaps aren’t as reliable, sometimes jamming. And I think we have all been in the situation when your trying to evade a hostile group of people, you duck into some bushes and right as you get ready to shoot them all in the back your highcap throws up and makes a long Zermmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sound as the mechanism inside releases and not a single bb comes out, giving your position away and soon after added with a hail storm of bbs.
I own 8 AK47 standard mags and 2 highcaps, sometimes it depends which I use on the field, like at Heavy Recons field which is like a 8 or 9 minute hike up a big ass hill I prefer to travel light, cammo, vest, bottle of bbs and 1 highcap… but that’s because I’m lazy.
At any rate when ever I buy a new gun the first mag ill buy is a high cap, every arsenal should have at least one highcap, and it helps while having to save up for money to buy a sufficient amount of standards. Finial verdict: Standards are better in every way except hosing.

Viking, that last paragraph just about sums up my feelings on the issue.
Grunt, packing, yes, but remember, i'm using an mp5, so my standards are about 20 less than your M4 or AK standard. Although mine are lighter and i can carry 9 in three 2XM16 mag pouches.

True,
When I can afford to take on the Rifleman role part-time, I will be along with you guys. But I moreover prefer my M40XB w/ 3 mags ;D
