Hey do you guys use lasers very much compared to red dots? And out of the two what do you use the most and why. Also this is probally the dumbest question I've asked so far, but what about attaching lasers to pistols like the Raging Bull for instance? I know that there is a rail for red dots, but I like the idea of scaring people with the laser.

Lasers and red dots are two different things completley. A red dot is a sight you mount and look through. A laser is somthing mounted on the weapon that... points at stuff. Most people only have lasers for show. The red dot sight is much more reliable and does a better job. Also the dot in the sight doesn't show up on the target.

If you are to play outside, there is no purpose what so ever for a laser, as it is usually to bright to see the dot. Some people get them as powerful as to see them in the sunlight for a distance, but i sure as hell dont want to play with someone pointing a laser that powerful at me . For forest skirmishes, redot sights are definitly the way to go. They help with quick target acquisition, and still provide a large field of view. I do however use a laser sight a lot also. As of now i ahve only used it on my pistol(which is still for sale btw ;D) and i must say it is a definite must for indoor CQB scenarios. Also, in low light situations it is a life saver, unless you want to invest in the Trintium(or whatever) sights for your gun, but as i recall those are a lot more than a simple laser sight.

Normal Reddot SIGHTS will not magnify. You can however buy red-dot SCOPES. They will magnify, but they dont seem to be as common. Also, i dont believe that they are all that similar to the red-dot sights. I think that they just brighten the center of aiming a bit to make it easier to see, but they make project an entirly electronic dot, im not too sure. I know the guy from airsoft ohio( with nice sniper rifle, you know, the one that was at OP: BHD quite a ways back) has one on his sniper rifle. The main disadvantage of that that i saw was that you could see the scope lens illuminated from quite a ways away, giving him away a lot of the time. I dunno, someone correct me. Save me BIGMACK! Or minky.... oh god dont hurt me....

Red dot scopes don't magnify, as far as I know. Mine (A 42mm Blazer) sure doesn't, but then, why would you need a red dot scope to magnify? Just buy an illuminated reticle scope (Which, when you look through it, looks like my avatar to the left).

There are some that I know of that are static power, I think the biggest I've seen was a 4x red dot.
