me and my cousin, spork, bought a couple bayonets off of affordableairsoft.com. we thought they would be soft plastic, but they aer very hard. we have reas much about bayonet charges and knife kills in "Tales of Valor". we are curious how this is done in a safe way, before we accidentally kill someone and are forced to bury body in my back yard = )

To 'knife kill' somebody, you tag them with your hand. Easy as that.

I have nothing else to say, but since you have the bayonets... you could get with in 5 feet, or within stabbing distance! Im sure you could work it however you wanted to!

just poke them lightly with it... if youre charging head on with the much force, chances are you're going to get mowed down WWI style before the kill anyways I always wanted to get a fake k-bar and knife kill. I hesitate since I would probably sneak up behind somebody grab their mouth and put the rubber to their throat (would make for a hell of a story later)

I don't know, the whole idea of "just poke them" sounds kinda risky. If they are pretty tough, I would recommend using them for looks. There is always a danger of wanting to just tap them with it, but then accidently slipping injuring them or yourself.

I highly recommend no one trying to “knife kill” with a bayonet even if it’s a little rubber fake one. First of all bayonets are mounted on the end of your gun and usually only extend a couple inches from the end of your barrel… it is never ever a good idea to point your gun at someone that close. It doesn’t matter if the gun is stock at that range its just dangerous. Even though our MiA rules state that 350 and below have engagement limits of only arms length it is also intended that you sue common sense and reasonability when playing, and stick the barrel that close to a person is anything but responsible or smart.

In my experience with the anomaly of "knife kill" and my personal feelings towards it, you shouldn't have to even make bodily contact. Simply getting under the engagement range and either asking "surrender" or saying "knife kill" depending on the rules has worked well for me.
When you make up something which involves physical contact, especially in an andrenaline filled enviroment such as airsoft, you're asking for trouble. Some people just don't like being touched, or they may take offense to how hard you "slap"/"poke" among other things, and escalate the situation into something unfortunate.
