The three M's that describe me (Newman) best...
Anyhoo, I had the best Airsoft games of my life today. Seriously, I did the best that I've ever done, and it was pretty hilarious too.
FLAG had a game today in the woods by my house and I was the host (like normal). The woods are really huge (double the size of Viking's place I'd say, but it's all grown in, so maybe that makes it seem bigger). We all (a grand total of 5 at the beginning, I have nothing else to say) met at around noon and got down to the field around 12:30 with all of our gear. Our first game, I decided that my former paintball (team) teammate, Alex (using my MP5SD6), and I (custom M4) would be facing off against the three friends from Ann Arbor-Brian (AK), Jeff(MP5PDW), and Alan(MP5A4).
Alex hadn't played paintball since last year, I think March or so, and had never played Airsoft with more than 2 people before. Like I said, it was him and me versus the other three guys. Great odds, huh? ;D
Back to the story-Alex and I made our way to the right side of the woods and moved cautiously forward, scanning every possible place for enemy movement. After a good ten minutes of searching, we literally blundered into the advancing opponents and, fortunately, escape detection. I signal Alex to get down, while I slowly move forward to get a better position on the other team. Jeff and Brian were walking in a single file line (bad idea) directly in front of me, but were going in the opposite direction. I full-auto burst (around 10 shots) them, but it turns out that the hop-up wasn't adjusted correctly! The bb's go really high, and they avoid any possible problems. Alex crawled up to a tree and was scanning the area, while I adjusted the hop-up and then moved forward.
After about twenty steps into the woods, I encounter Brian walking directly towards me. He glances at me, shrugs it off, then keeps moving. Rattattatatatat. "I'm out!" One less guy to worry about (he later told me that he thought I was his teammate Alan).
Alex, meanwhile, is in quite a predicament with the real Alan firing directly at him. I move quickly but quietly over to the sound of the firefight, and meet a full-auto burst that goes right above me. 'Don't get up, Newmie, don't get up' ;D I was pretty much just stuck behind a tree with nowhere to go, and the opposition knew my position, so I just yelled out, "ALEX! HELP ME OUT! ONE LEFT, GROUND, IT'S ALAN!" Seeing as Alex was on the left, I thought he'd just help me out and take out Alan, but...Alex has selective hearing. If you've ever met somebody with the more 'advanced' condition, then you know what I'm talking about-he doesn't listen to anything at all if he's doing a task that he's committed to (sounds like a wife-husband thing, heh). Anyway, Alex was still crawling when I yelled that, and doesn't even notice that I said it. I just hunker down and wait it out.
Seconds later, I hear "brrrrrrrrrr" and "whap!" as Alan is eliminated. Unbeknownst to me, it was Jeff, Alan's own teammate, that killed him! ROFL!
That left just Jeff on the other team alive, and Alex was still crawling through the woods, taking his sweet pretty time. "Alex! Only Jeff is left! Move over here!" Just then, Jeff decides to tell me how stupid I am for yelling that and shoots directly at my position. I narrowly escape the plastic death. "Alex! He's at your 12 o' clock!" He finally hears me and basically whispers back, "OK". After ten humiliating minutes of Alex and Jeff exchanging fire (humiliating because it was just like paintball in how much ammo was shot), I finally duck out of my position behind a tree and eliminate Jeff with a single shot to the neck. He said that it hurt, and I tend to believe people who say that.
