The bolt was hard to pull before, but now is very loose. The spring is not compressing (at least i dont think). Does anybody have an idea whats wrong, or how to remove the spring/piston from the rest of the assembly?
edit: i emailed the guy who i bought it from. He said he tightened the "trigger spring", and it worked again, but never said how to.

Please be more specific with your trouble description. When you say its very loose, does that mean loose enough to slide back on its own? Did you set the bolt and forget that the safety is on? That would cause no trigger action, but a loose bolt. Did it fire properly the last time you pulled the bolt back and there was tension from the spring? Did the feel of the trigger change at all? Did you recently take the trigger off of the receiver for maintenance or cleaning? Was there a loaded magazine in the receiver last time you tried setting the bolt?
If you are not sure if there is tension on the spring be very careful when you disassemble the receiver from the stock, because the sear could release at any time.
If you're not familiar with disassembling the APS it is best to let someone more capable work on it for you. Reattaching the trigger to the receiver requires knowledge of setting the sear spring.

not loose enough to slide back on its own, but it is very easy to slide..
safety is off
I was just trying it some more now.. Sometimes when the bolt is hard to pull it shoots, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes it is very easy to pull, and it shoots, or doesnt shoot. Its so random. Im guessing the times it is EAsy to pull is because the previous non-shooting hard pull. And i stopped testing it when it was easy to pull all the time..which is the status its in right now
trigger feel didnt change.
i did not take the trigger off
also, the mag was loaded when i pull the bolt

Hmmm... interesting. I see by your profile that you are located in the Troy area, is that correct? I'd like to take a look at it if you're agreeable. I'm familiar with the APS and I think I could help.

as of now the problem is BBs not firing. The owner told me a bb might be lodged or pulverized somehow.
