I got in a WA Sigma tonight and I don't have manuals whatnot, none the less I was trying to adjust the hopup and having a hell of a time, I would assume it's the same as the WA 1911's since I see a set screw in the bottom of the barrel. Though when I turn this screw it seems to bring a little block into view on the bottom which curves BB's down or jam's. Didn't screw with it much at all after that. I'm pretty new to WA guns so I'm hoping someone here can give me a little insight as to how to set the hopup. Thanks.

I would have told you not to mess with it since it will be an endless source of pain, but it's too late for that now. It sound like it uses the standard WA system where there is a stationary bit of rubber on top of the barrel, and you adjust a plastic nub that moves up and down on the bottom. It's really one of the worst hop-up systems in airsoft, mostly because it's a big pain in the ass to get adjusted. That being said, a good base to start with is to try and get the bit on the bottom to match that on the top in terms of how much is showing. It's trial and error from there, and you'll have to just go in small steps, like 1/8th turns of the screw or less, until you get where you want to be. I usually try and back the screw off a little after I get close, to avoid random BBs that get too much hop occasionally. You have to think backwards in the WA system; when the adjustment screw is all the way out (nothing sticking out on the bottom of barrel) you should see max hop from the top peice. As you screw it in you're resisting the backspin from the top. I know I've messed around with the hop-up in my 4.3 SVI for more than a year and I've never got it where I want it.... Good Luck! ;D Oh yeah, one word of caution: Be very careful when adjusting the bottom screw as it's very easy to move it in too far or back it out too much, and can cause damage to the system.

Well I'm going to do some looking but I can't see anything that would contact the BB on the top side, which concerns me a little. This gun is used, though I'm not sure how hard, nor if the other person tried to adjust it. Just for the sake of argument, anyone ever take one of these apart? Or have a scematic of it? Thanks allot Minky.

It's not for your exact gun, but I'm guessing WA used the same parts they use in nearly every other gun for the hop system. www.wargameclub.com/gun-folder/sv5-install.htm You want to look at parts 98 and 99 near the barrel. 99 is the rubber peice that wraps around and should be poking out the top, and 98 is the plastic part that is moved up into the bottom by the adjustment screw. If you are missing something, there are a few places to get replacements (including WA themselves) so you should be able to fix any problems.

Well I'm still having issues:) I am under the impression that all the parts are there and in good condition, since I took the hopup out and apart, and it's now back in the same way it was. But I still don't understand how it applies pressure to the top of the rubber, and I don't see any rubber on the top showing into the barrel as I would expect and no hopup still. Could you go through it as slowly and with everything you could think of as far as how it works. I would appreciate it. Thanks.
