Hello All,
I am attempting to get back into this sport, but I have been out of the game so long I have no idea where to start as far as new rifles go.
I still have my Maruzen APS2 SV with upgrades, but it is battered and bruised from when I let a friend play with it and he destroyed everything. Trigger was broken from being left cocked for too long when he ran out of rounds, missing ball bearings from the bolt, hop-up is all out of wonk, bucking is probably worn out.
Long story short - I want to try and get back into it. I want to get another sniping rig setup. However, I don't know if there have been new revelations in the sport. I don't know which vendors to trust, what guns to check out now, what upgrades to look into, nothing.
I can try and use this old beauty, but I have a feeling its going to be a pain with trying to handle it being the way it is.
Any information would be helpful, hence the reason I have posted in the newbie section.
Thanks guys, -Rabbit/Roman

Sorry to hear that about your Maruzen APS2, and welcome back. The two latest things that come to mind depending on how long ago you got out of the hobby have been the proliferation of HPA (electric-pneumatic) airsoft guns/drop in HPA gearboxes and advances in hop up/nubs/inner barrel.
Even Tippmann has gotten into the airsoft game and has released a "blow back" airsoft gun (Tippmann M4) that runs on either CO2 drop in mags or HPA.
Bolt action sniper rifle parts are becoming increasingly harder to find.
Also lots of people are even HPA tapping their gas magazines on their GBB Pistols/GBBRs or gas powered bolt action rifles for better performance and consistency
TL;DR - Airsoft has turned into paintball (jk)
