I see that most events are restricting P* to 1.55J, I understand why this has happened and I agree with it. But my question is not about the P* it is about using HPA. I recently converted all of my gas guns to HPA, this includes my vsr 10 sniper rifle (bolt action) and my WE M14 ( semi auto only) that shoots above the 1.55j limit of p*. I would like to know if event hosts are going to try to impose the same rules (1.55J) on me since I run HPA. Obviously I do not plan on exceeding the well established FPS rules but I dont want my sniper rifle shooting 410 FPS (.20g) either. I am looking to put sniper rifle to 540 FPS with .20 (2.7j) and my M14 to 500 FPS (2.3j). My other gas guns will be below 1.55J so I am not concerned with them. I read the topic about the P* rules from a couple months ago and did not see this information, I just want to make sure before I show up to a event.

This is a really interesting point, do standard gbbr's/sniper rifles shoot above the 1.55j level when they run 500 fps + on propane/green gas?

The reason polarstar are capped at 1.55j is the fact that even in semi the trigger response is so quick it is just about the same as having full auto still. Hence our cut off at the full auto joule limit.
With a single shot bolt action rigged to hpa, you're obviously not going to ha e that type of firing capacity.
I would allow a higher fps bolt action, but there are two things to keep in mind:
You would have a 100 foot med at the very least. This would be watched very closely and if you were caught shooting your med, you're gone.
Joule creep happens with hpa bolt actions as well, so you would be chronoed with the weight bbs you will be using and marked and tagged just like a polarstar/slp user. ANY noticeable deviation would result in removal from the game, just like anyone else.
My main concern at events is player safety. We've had higher power bolt action and semi modded aegs, but neither of those are as quickly adjustable as a hpa based rig.
The maturity of the player is what determines if they're going to stay on the field, even if they're with in posted limits. Play safe and respectful and you won't have an issue, try to push limits and see what you can get away with, and you won't be attending any of our events again. This is directed to ALL players, not Kjones in particular. It seems more and more that players are trying to use FPS limits as goals not guidelines. I take safety very seriously, and have no problem removing players from our events if they are causing issues.

Thanks pagan, this was my exact though on it too, its the trigger response coupled with the FPS that make the P* engine easily abused. My sniper rifle does already chrono over 1.55j limit with standard propane, It shoots ~515 w/ .2 @ 80F. I changed to HPA for consistency. The M14 has a NPAS so that can be anywhere I want it.
