Hi everyone! I was looking at purchasing an APS military style AUG with the V3 gearbox and was wondering if anyone had any positive or negative experiences with this replica and could give me some feedback about it before I buy it. Thanks.

I think that model has a plastic gear box (may be wrong). I have held one before and I thought the externals seemed a little too plasticky, the finish was kinda bad (shiny) but they may have changed that since then. That's all I really know about them.

Any reason in particular you are looking at the aps? I don't know much about aps, but my friend had a JG one, it was pretty nice, nothing special but it had a nice finish to it. Not sure if you have thought about one of the JG's.

Not sure if you have thought about one of the JG's. Well, there are relatively few AUGs on the market and APS is in general a nicer brand than JG so that was the main reason that I was looking at APS.

Since APS released an AUG variant, I haven't heard much about it here on MIA. Having owned several TM, CA and a JG AUG, their externals look pretty good in comparison especially with the addition of the rails and what looks like some stippling on the grip, but I don't have any personal experience with one. I did a quick Google search and several APS Aug video reviews popped up so I would suggest doing a broader search if no one here can reply with the information you are looking for.

Thanks for all of the information guys. I've decided to purchase this replica after seeing your feedback and various reviews on the Internet. Thanks for all of the help!
Edit: Once I recieve the replica and get a skirmish in I will be posting a review of it here so if any of you are interested in it you will have an easier time than I had finding information.

I have a M1 Garant that has an FPS of approximately 450 and hits targets up to and further than 200 feet. I've modified it so it will fit a scope. Can I use my rifle as a sniper rifle or just a DMR? Thank you for your help!
Edit: If my question does not conform to this discussion, please delete or move.. My sincere apologies.

Pretty sure that it would fall under the DMR class, but it's totally up to the hosts discretion. An airsoft sniper rifle is most of the time a bolt action rifle. Also IIRC, bolt action rifles are the only guns allowed in ~450-550 FPS range at larger organized events.
Also, your question is totally irrelevant to the OP. Just a heads up that you might want to skim through the rules again before posting, or else your warning level may be bumped up.
