Googled it, tried fixing it by taking out the cutoff lever and putting it back in, didn't work. Any other idea?

Either your cutoff lever is worn and not engaging when in semi, or your selector plate is not pushing the cutoff lever in position when the selector switch is on semi. Is the tiny little spring between the selector plate and cutoff lever in place?

Doesn't look worn and the spring is very much there.

If you pull the trigger all the way back quickly, do you still get full auto?

Check the back side of the trigger trolley. Make sure that isn't worn.
How to test to make sure semi will work:
Install sector gear, wiring harness and trolley, and trigger. Pull the trigger, and cycle the sector gear counter clockwise. Also make sure that the selector plate is set to semi auto(cutoff lever engaged). If parts are fully functional, the trigger trolley should pop up, and disengage. If not, check different combinations of sector gears(not too crucial), cutoff levers, and trigger trolleys.

Had the same issue with my g-36. The cut off lever didn't look like it was worn, but I bought a new one anyway, and when side by side with the new one it was clearly worn. Put the new one in and the issue went away.
