I Guess you could say I'm newer to airsoft but I know some stuff about my guns but not a lot. I was wondering if I need to put some kind of lube in my AEG M4A1 to have it keep working. Because I didn't do that in my magazine for my CO2 pistol and now it's broken. So I wondering if I need to do anything special for my AEG. If somebody could please help me I would definetly appreciate it. Also if you could tell me what I need to do with my co2 pistol to keep it working once I get a new mag I would also really appreciate that a lot too.
Thanks guys. Sincerely, Zodiac

Well, it depends on how "clean" you want your AEG. If you are going for the full clean, you would need to take apart the gun and remove the gearbox, then take that apart. That is when you can remove old grease and add different lubrication. There are many guides online of how to take apart your specific gun and gearbox, so I would start there.
As for your pistol I have no clue, unless there is an air leak caused by a torn O-Ring.

CO2 pistols in general have short life spans due to the high power gas. The mags are also different from normal gbb mags.
As for cleaning, just clean your barrel if you have a tbb. The gearbox lube is also helpful for smoothness and efficiency.

Well to Zephurah. I have looked up videos on how to take my gun apart. Which some help but my red and black cord that connect to my battery I have disconnected the black connector but I can't disconnect the red one. I have to disconnect both so I can push them through so I can take off the upper reciever. It's like the red one is super glued on there and I can't take it off. Soo until I figure how to do that I can't even take apart my gun /: which seriously pisses me off. Any ideas on how to disconnect the red one?

Heat it up, wiggle it a bit, just work at it. Just be mindful not to mess up the wiring by it suddenly releasing. Pretty sure it's not glued. Also make sure there isn't an extra later of heat shrink that holds it together

For the hop-up/inner barrel components, just clean them with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Use a barrel-cleaning rod and a bore patch to clean inside the inner barrel. You don't really need to lubricate these, even though people will recommend it. Lubricating tends to just attract dirt.
For inside the gearbox of the AEG, once you get that far, I would recommend you take everything out, take it all apart, and set it in an orderly fashion. Then, clean/degrease it. I use isopropyl alcohol, but warm water and soap is fine as long as you dry everything off completely. An old toothbrush is nice for cleaning in-between small areas like the gear/piston teeth. Re-grease all moving metal parts (gears/piston rack) with white lithium grease, lightly (and I mean lightly) grease the piston O-ring/inside of cylinder with silicon gel, and lubricate the piston track/air nozzle with silicon oil.
For your externals, it really varies. If you have nice full-metal externals you can use actual gun-cleaning oil (with the internals removed). If you have externals that just don't need that much care, you can clean it with a wet towel and brush.
I have an AR-15 full disassembly/reassembly guide (right into the gearbox) that may help you take it apart:
EDIT: I'd like to point out that, while I use hex-style bits taking this apart, those screws are actually Torx (T8 specifically). I learned this mistake the hard way stripping one of the motor plate screws. Learn the difference between hex and Torx, and figure out what is used on your gun.

If you'd like I can help you, I'm offering tech services now. But for free I can take a look at your gun at a game and see what up with that connector, I'm guessing there's heat shrink so try taking that off. Here's my thread if you're interested at all miairsoft.proboards.com/thread/50398/wts-tech-service
